The Flamengo Artistic Gymnastics women's team won the third championship this Sunday (20). The athletes dominated in three of the four devices of the competition and Jade Barbosa was the gold medalist in the general individual classification. Rebeca Andrade also caught everyone's attention.
The Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship took place this weekend in Bahia. Since Friday (18), gymnasts from all over the country have gathered at the Lauro Freitas Arena to compete in different modalities and on various devices. Among the men, Red-Black Diogo Soares won first place on the pommel horse. However, it was the best women who brought the big prizes.
The performance of Flávia Saraiva, Rebeca Andrade, Jade Barbosa and Lorrane Oliveira started phenomenally in the first stage of the competition on Friday (18). The scores of the flamenguistas were already among the best, however the final results were not known until the second presentations, which took place this Sunday.
Jade Barbosa was the highlight, having won first place in the general individual competition. This means that, adding all the athlete's score over the two days, on the four different devices, she accumulated more points, more specifically 105,567 points. And the third place was also red-black, with the representation of Lorrane. Jade had the highest score on the floor too, just like on Friday. performing to 'Cell Block Tango' from the classic musical, 'Chicago'.
On the parallels and beam, the big name was Rebeca Andrade. The Olympic medalist did not perform on the ground, which automatically removed her from the individual general competition. However, she still performed for the other devices, where she had the best grades of the day on two of them. On uneven bars (parallel) she scored 30,067, followed by Lorrane Oliveira and Jade Barbosa, closing a completely black and red podium. Already on the beam, the second place next to her went to Flavinha Saraiva, who, similarly, did not participate in the ground.
At the end of the competition, the third championship was in the hands of Mengão. With great athletes and only 'failing' in the jump, where, even so, Rebeca Andrade's presentation drew great attention with an incredible rating of 14,633.
Mengão is one of the main multi-sport teams in Brazil and stands out among the clubs that send athletes to defend the country

Flamengo confirmed its prominent position in Brazilian swimming by leading the number of athletes called up to represent the country in the five main international competitions of the 2025 season. In total, 18 swimmers from the club were called up to join different national teams, more than any other club in the country.
The calls cover five tournaments : the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore; the Junior World Championships in Otopeni (Romania); the Universiades in Berlin (Germany); the South American Youth Championships in Rio de Janeiro; and the U-15 Gymnasiades in Serbia.
Among Brazilian clubs, only Flamengo and Pinheiros have managed to field athletes in all five national teams . Flamengo leads the overall rankings with 18 players, followed by Pinheiros and Minas Tênis Clube, both with 14.
Although other institutions dominated selections in specific categories—such as Unisanta, the base team for the Singapore World Cup, with five players, and Minas Gerais, a strong performer at the Universiade and Junior World Championships— Flamengo was the standout in the youth categories . The Rio de Janeiro club had the most representatives in both the South American Youth Championship, with nine athletes, and the U-15 Gymnasiade, with five.
The survey, conducted by the Best Swimming website, analyzed a total of 23 clubs that had swimmers selected. After Flamengo, Pinheiros, and Minas, SESI-SP (10 athletes) and Unisanta (8) were the most representative. The significant presence of Flamengo on the national teams, especially among the younger players, reinforces Flamengo's role as a key player in the renewal of national swimming and one of Brazil's main talent pools.
