0Created by Flamengo's youth teams, striker Paulo Sérgio is enjoying a good moment in his career at 35 years old. Defending Náutico in the Series C dispute, the athlete scored six goals in the last six games for the team, has 50% of his team's goals and is among the top scorers in the third national division.
The goalscoring moment makes of the player is also one of the most decisive for his team in the competition. On his debut, Paulo scored an equalizer against São Bernardo in the 40th minute of the second half. Then, in the sixth round, he scored twice in the 4-1 rout of Remo and was responsible for opening the scoring in a draw with Caxias in the seventh round game, this Sunday (9).
The Former Flamengo player also scored a second goal in a 3-0 victory over ABC, in the second round. The only goal that came in a defeat was in a confrontation with an old acquaintance from Flamengo's days: Volta Redonda. At the end of the game, Paulo scored from the penalty spot and reduced the defeat to 2-1. Paulo Sérgio did not score a goal in just two of Náutico's seven matches in Série C: against Ferroviária and São José-RS. But it's worth noting that he didn't even face the São Paulo team due to muscle discomfort. In other words, of the times he entered the field in the tournament, the attacker did not find the net just once.
It is also worth highlighting the ability that the attacker has demonstrated to score in different ways. Three of his goals were with his right leg (São Bernardo, Remo and Caxias), one with his left leg (Remo), one with a header (ABC) and one from a penalty (Volta Redonda). Furthermore, a great goal with his right leg to open the scoring against Caxias was a beautiful shot from outside the area. See below:
Six goals that place the athlete in third place in the Serie C artillery, behind Jonathas and Ítalo who have seven. He is also responsible for scoring half of Náutico's goals in the competition: six of 12.
A standout in the youth categories, Paulo debuted in Flamengo's professionals shortly after turning 18. He started in the red-and-black victory over Friburguense for Carioca in 2007. However, without the same success he had in juniors, he stayed at the club for two more seasons before starting to be loaned out.
O Cria da Gávea He played for Figueirense, Estoril (POR) and the Náutico he defends today between 2009 and 2012. There were few opportunities at Mengão between loans and, upon returning at the beginning of 2012, he decided to leave definitively for Operário. In total, there were 11 wins, 13 draws, eight defeats and four goals scored with Manto Sagrado in 32 games. < p>Mengão finished his preparation for the clash against Athletico
|
0On Saturday afternoon (28), Flamengo held its last training session before facing Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão. A clash that could decide the future of coach Tite at Mengão, was attended by all the players considered to be starters, despite the expectation of a mixed team for Sunday (29).
In content published on social media of Flamengo, names like Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro, who were starters in the Libertadores elimination, last Thursday (26), appear alongside young fledglings, such as Matheus Gonçalves and Evertton, who have been widely used in the “reserve team ” by Tite.
With his destiny becoming more uncertain at Flamengo, Tite may having led his last training session as coach of Rubro-Negro. There are four games without a win, a bad result, or poorly presented football against Athletico-PR, could mean the end of the line for the coach, just under a year after his arrival.
In the semi-finals of Copa do Brasil, where they face Corinthians, and in the G4 of the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro's objective is clear, to become CdB champion, and remain in the classification zone for the next Libertadores in the points championship.
The board of directors of the club where the star was at had to make drastic decisions in order to improve the team's performance and calm the fans' dissatisfaction.

0Náutico's season has been marked by ups and downs, with the team facing challenges both on and off the field. The situation has worsened recently, leading the board to take drastic decisions in an attempt to improve the team's performance and calm the fans' dissatisfaction.
After a series of negative results and under heavy pressure, Náutico's board of directors decided to terminate the contract of defender Rafael Vaz, ex-Flamengo. The 1-0 defeat to Floresta, at the Aflitos stadium, in the ninth round of Series C of the Brazilian Championship, was the culmination of the decision. Vaz's contract with the Pernambuco club was expected to last until November this year.
Playing for Flamengo between 2016 and 2018, Rafael Vaz arrived at Náutico and quickly became an important part of the team. This season, he participated in 26 of the team's 31 games, starting 25 times. During the 4-1 victory over Remo, Vaz scored a goal, standing out on the field. However, after the defeats to São José-RS, Caxias and Floresta, he became the target of criticism from fans.
Rafael Vaz, who served as captain of Náutico, could not resist the pressure and dissatisfaction from the fans, who demanded better performance from the team and the player. The board, in turn, opted to terminate the contract in an attempt to calm tempers and seek new paths for the club.
Currently, Náutico finds itself in a delicate situation in Series C of the Brazilian Championship. With just eight points in eight rounds, the team occupies 13th place, being just two points above the relegation zone. The pressure for positive results increases with each round, and Rafael Vaz's departure is yet another attempt to reverse this situation.
