Rodrigo Muniz, a center forward revealed by Flamengo, ended the Premier League season consolidated in Fulham's attack. However, his journey in England was not always full of joy. After helping Fulham gain promotion to the Premier League in the 21/22 season, Muniz experienced significant challenges during his loan at Middlesbrough in the 22/23 season.
Following his return to Fulham, Muniz was loaned to Middlesbrough to continue his development . At first, under Chris Wilder, he was given several opportunities and was performing well.
However, the arrival of former Manchester United man Michael Carrick as the new manager changed his situation. Muniz was left aside, facing a difficult period. "It was very difficult. I arrived to play as a nine with Chris Wilder, who was there and was great for me, he helped me a lot. Things were happening, but then the coach changed and I stopped playing. It was a difficult time and I was find out only later (the reason), but there was nothing to do", revealed Muniz in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil.
Advice from Filipe Luís
During this troubled period , Muniz decided to seek advice from Filipe Luís, with whom he played at Flamengo between 2020 and 2021. Known for his role as a mentor to young players, Filipe Luís offered crucial guidance that helped Muniz overcome his difficulties.
"My wife and I lived on a farm and there was nothing to do. There was no way to even call Uber. There came a time when I arrived from training and just cried, because I was lost. I didn't know what was happening," shared Muniz .
“It was then that I had a very good conversation with Filipe Luís. I called him, explained that some things were happening and that I was going to training a little sad. And he told me that training we don't negotiate, that it's not for the coach, for the club, but for us to evolve. When I become a coach, I will give my life and I am sure that the training I did there helped me get to where I am today. “, concluded the attacker.
