Flamengo and Peñarol face each other this coming Thursday (19), in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Thus, the Uruguayan team released the list of 25 players to face Mais Querido. Two of the three newly-signed players are part of the group, but Diego Aguirre has a Brazilian striker among the absences.

Peñarol's two new players for the game against Mais Querido are Rodrigo Pérez (former Defensor midfielder, Uruguaia) and Alan Medina (ex-León striker, from Mexico). However, right-back Damián Súarez could not be registered as he had already been registered by Botafogo in the round of 16 of the competition.

In addition, Diego Aguirre will also have two more absences. This is because Uruguayan midfielder Ignacio Sosa (still transitioning to the field after injury) and Brazilian striker Matheus Babi (technical option) were left out.

Flamengo faces Corinthians, this Sunday (01), in the Brasileirão. Mengão is the only club in the G4 that continues to compete for the Brazilian Championship, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores. Agustín Rossi, Fla's goalkeeper, commented, in an interview with 'GE', about the final stretch of the season and fans' expectations for titles.

"Fans can rest assured that we will always try to win. We say here that we have to know how to live with the different moments of the game, there are times when we have to defend more, then attack. to face each game in the best way, each competition is different", commented Rossi.

With 15 games left in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo continues in the search for the title. However, Rossi highlights the importance of staying focused. The archer sees the FIFA Data, which comes right after the duel against Timão, as a valuable opportunity to better integrate new players into the squad.

“The Brasileirão There's still a long way to go, 15 games. We have to prepare, the reinforcements have arrived now, they have to adapt. But there is a FIFA Date now for this, to adapt to the team and the way of working”, concluded the goalkeeper.

ROSSI'S RETURN

Rossi returns to Flamengo's starting lineup in this Sunday's match (01), against Corinthians. In the game against Bahia, last Wednesday (28), Matheus Cunha took charge of Mengã's goal. Coach Tite rotates goalkeepers, aiming to have both players up to speed in the game, in case something unexpected happens.
