Flamengo's new stadium will still generate a lot of debate inside and outside the club. After the election, Bap's management will have the mission of getting construction on the Gasometer site off the ground. The purchase process, however, generated threats to some advisors and still raises doubts internally.
"We bought the land. It was a very accelerated process, it was a vote in which we were tied. There was no way we could vote against it because it is the Nation's dream. But very few people had better knowledge of it all. We had little information", said Ricardo Lomba, president of Flamengo's Deliberative Council.
Understanding the subject
One of the complaints in recent months was the lack of details about the construction of the stadium. Fla advisors, partners and candidates had access to practically no documents explaining how the board led by Rodolfo Landim intended to pay to build the arena.
President of the Deliberative Council elected for the three-year period, Ricardo Lomba said that there are still many steps to be taken. What has been voted on by the councilors so far has only been the purchase of the land. Afterwards, Landim sent invitations to present the first details of the project designed shortly before the election.
"What do we have in terms of concrete for a stadium? During this election period I received invitations to see the stadium plan from the party that was defeated, but there is no project, there is no concrete thing for us to see, as there is already a soil study, decontamination, a lot of information that I'm not aware of. Everything will be discussed. How are we going to work on the schedule of the notice? many questions in the Deliberative Council for this to move forward"
Several councilors were threatened in the vote to purchase the land. There were 602 in favor and 33 against, in addition to four abstentions. Outside the Gávea headquarters, one of the banners held up by organized fans present said: "Whoever is against the stadium is against the Nation".
During the electoral process, the situation said it would release the names of the 33 councilors who voted against. Furthermore, the topic was raised several times in the debates, especially to attack Bap.
"We cannot suffer persecution or any type of intimidation because of the vote I intend to make. If I vote for side A and the board wants side B, I am persecuted in some way. This is not democracy, it is absurd and that it has to be rejected. I think there was, at the very least, a lack of skill in handling all of this. There was even talk of disclosing the names of the 33 "traitors to the Nation" who voted against the stadium. correct way to act. There were many messages saying that whoever voted against would be voting against Flamengo. This is playing low. The municipality's political issue coincided with that of Flamengo and became a snowball to speed up the vote and greatly induce the councilor to vote. 'Yes'. I think we had to buy the land, but everyone would be more confident and calm if they had more time to analyze, ask questions.

One of the great merits of Filipe Luís's work at Flamengo's helm is its defensive solidity . Under his leadership, the team has not been defeated this season, and Rossi is largely responsible for this. The Argentine goalkeeper is having a consistent year , with decisive performances and an impressive streak of clean sheets.
According to a survey released by the club this Tuesday (7), Rossi reached seven consecutive games without conceding goals in 2025 and established himself as the athlete with the most matches in the season, totaling 51 appearances so far.
The term "clean sheet" originated in the Premier League and is used to define when a goalkeeper finishes a match without conceding a goal , and Rossi has already achieved this feat in 29 of his 51 matches this year for the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved). The only performance in which the number 1 conceded more goals was against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup in June. On that occasion, Flamengo lost 4-2 in the round of 16 of the competition.
With Rossi on a high and a mainstay in the squad, Flamengo returns to the field on October 15th to face Botafogo at 7:30 pm (Brasília time) at Nilton Santos Stadium for the 28th round of the Brasileirão. The match will be broadcast on Premiere (pay-per-view), Record TV (open channel) and Cazé TV (YouTube).
