The construction of the stadium on the Gasometer has been the subject of much discussion and speculation. With an area of 86,500 square meters, the need to make maximum use of this space to accommodate a stadium with capacity for 80,000 people has raised questions about the feasibility of including an external fan fest.

The president of the club, Landim, expressed the intention of creating an external area for the fan fest, however, sports consultant Fabrício Chicca (@mundonabola) brought up a crucial question about the available space.

The concern lies on the joint impact that the fan fest and stadium audiences would have on the adjacent infrastructure. From parking to public transport and support services, everything needs to be carefully planned taking into account the sum of these audiences.

FLAMENGO AND ITS MANAGEMENT RACE AGAINST TIME

The big unknown hanging over this project is whether the 86.5 thousand square meters would be capable of support not only the stadium itself, but also an external fan fest with an expected audience of between 5 and 15 thousand people, adding to the internal audience of 80 thousand spectators.

The designated area presents a considerable challenge for the engineering and architecture involved in the project. The need to optimize space is evident, requiring creative and efficient solutions to ensure that both the stadium and the fan fest can coexist in a functional and safe way.

The former captain and number 10 of Flamengo, Diego Ribas, will represent the club in Orlando, in the United States, starting in July. Diego, who had a remarkable career in Brazilian and international football, now joins Flamengo in a new initiative to expand the club's presence abroad.

The project in which Diego Ribas will be an ambassador envisages the creation of camps, which are sports teams aimed at children and teenagers. These camps will be held in several cities in the United States, with the aim of identifying new talents and, at the same time, promoting the Flamengo brand outside Brazil. In addition to the camps, the club plans to open football schools in the country in the future, further consolidating its international presence.

FLAMENGO IS INSPIRED BY WORLD GIANTS

O Flamengo was inspired by similar projects carried out by major European clubs, such as Real Madrid, which has already developed successful initiatives in this model. The strategy is clear: increase the recognition and strength of the Flamengo name worldwide. By following in the footsteps of top European clubs, Flamengo seeks to not only create new opportunities for young players, but also expand its market and influence in global football.

By the end of 2026, Flamengo plans to hold five camps in the United States, two per year. These screenings will not only provide the opportunity for young talent to showcase their potential, but will also serve as a platform to spread Brazilian football culture and Flamengo values among young Americans.

In the last Fla-Flu, played on Sunday, striker Bruno Henrique, Flamengo's number 27, entered the field under difficult conditions. Facing an injury, he had to take medication to be able to play, highlighting the degree of physical impairment he is going through. His situation, which is not simple, has generated concern among both fans and the coaching staff.Bruno Henrique has already faced other injuries in the past, which increases caution with his current condition. Playing at sacrifice is a demonstration of his dedication to the team, but it also raises questions about the risks of aggravating the injury. The pressure to perform in important matches can lead athletes to push their bodies beyond their limits, compromising full recovery and future performance.

FLAMENGO HAS NEWS IN THE CAST

The absence of Bruno Henrique, if the injury worsens, it would be a significant blow for Flamengo. His ability on the field and his tactical importance are undeniable. The team depends on the attacker's speed and finishing power, especially in decisive clashes like Fla-Flu. The decision to play him even though he is injured reflects the need for his presence in the team, but it can also be a double-edged sword.

The classic against Fluminense is always a match of high intensity and great importance in the Rio calendar. Bruno Henrique, despite being injured, didn't want to be left out and did his best to contribute. However, the effectiveness of an injured player is always limited, and the risk of further compromising health is high. The use of medication to cope with the pain shows the seriousness of the situation and the player's determination.

According to O Globo, the Flamengo is in full swing to fulfill an old dream of its fans: the construction of its own new stadium. In an ambitious project, the club intends to raise funds in two main ways: negotiating the naming rights of the future stadium and selling the construction potential of its headquarters in Gávea.

The objective is to start works by October 2024, marking a step significant in the club's trajectory. To ensure that the project gets off the ground, Flamengo is betting on a financial model that does not involve the creation of a Football Anonymous Society (SAF). According to the club's directors, this financial operation will allow the institution to maintain its current structure while making the new stadium viable.

FLAMENGO LEADS THE NEGOTIATIONS

The negotiation of naming rights is a of the key pieces of this plan. The practice, which is common in major clubs and arenas around the world, involves selling a sponsor's right to name the stadium. This type of sponsorship generates significant and long-term revenue, helping to finance the construction and maintenance of infrastructure.

For the Flamengo, this is an opportunity to attract big brands interested in associating their names with one of the most popular clubs and victorious from Brazil. There is still no information on which companies are in the running, but the expectation is that the chosen brand will invest a substantial amount, reflecting the magnitude and potential exposure that the club offers.
