In recent months, Gabigol was heavily speculated about at Corinthians and even opened negotiations with the São Paulo team. This last Friday (12), Rubens Gomes, better known as Rubão and former director of the Itaquera team, commented on the conversations with Mais Querido involving the attacker. According to the director, Flamengo sought to "get rid" of the player.
" The relationship with Flamengo was very good, I talked to Marcos Braz constantly. Flamengo wanted to get rid of Gabigol, but didn't want to break up with him Gabigol didn't want to break up with Flamengo. GABIGOL WILL STAY AT FLAMENGO UNTIL DECEMBERAfter conversations with Corinthians and Even with Palmeiras, who sent a proposal to the striker, Gabigol confirmed that he will stay at Flamengo until December, when his contract with Rubro-Negro ends.
"Everyone wants to score, but no one is going to score because This decision is mine, my parents', the next club I go to or Flamengo's (if I stay). I will communicate and everyone will know. I see a lot of lies on the internet, I don't know how they manage to make every lie. When I make a decision, I will be the first to communicate it to everyone. Everything is possible (leaving or staying at Flamengo). Nothing has been decided. I'm going to stay until December, and I want to be important", commented Gabigol, after Flamengo's defeat last Thursday (11).
FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATIONSo, Gabigol returned to the team and is once again available to Tite for matches until the end of the season. In this way, the striker reinforces the team in the next game, against Criciúma, on July 20th, in the 18th round of the Brasileirão.

Flamengo drew 1-1 with Vasco last Sunday (15), in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. After the classic, the red and black squad had no break and returned to train at Ninho do Urubu this Monday (16).
According to information from the Coluna do Fla team, the players from Flamengo will start meeting at 3pm (Brasília time) this Monday (16). At the Ninho do Urubu training center, Tite will begin activities at around 3:30 pm, with full focus on the Libertadores da América.
With the draw against Vasco, Flamengo remains in fourth place in the Brasileirão table. Mais Querido has 45 points, but the situation demands attention, as São Paulo (44 points) and Bahia (42) won in the round and got closer to Fla.
WHAT NOW?Now, Flamengo turns its attention to the Copa Libertadores da América. Next Thursday (19), Rubro-Negro will face Peñarol (URU) at Maracanã, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the competition. The duel is scheduled for 9:30 pm (Brasília time).

According to information from the portal Coluna do Fla, the cast of Mais Querido will perform again at CT Ninho do Urubu from 3pm this Monday (16). At CT, Tite will begin preparation with a focus on the Libertadores.
REASSESSMENT OF INJURED PEOPLEIn addition to preparing the team for the next clash, the technical committee together with Flamengo's medical department will reassess those injured, like Nico de La Cruz, who was left out of the classic. Corinthians faces an important financial decision involving goalkeeper Hugo Souza, currently on loan from Flamengo. As stipulated in the loan contract, the São Paulo club has the option to acquire 60% of the player's economic rights for a value of 800 thousand euros, which is equivalent to approximately R$4.9 million, using the current price.
This value, however, is not the only point to be considered. The agreement between the clubs provides that Corinthians will only be able to exercise this purchase option from October 1st. Before that date, any movement towards the definitive acquisition of Hugo Souza is unfeasible. In other words, until the beginning of October, the goalkeeper remains only a player on loan to the black and white club, and any negotiations regarding his permanent stay must wait.
FLAMENGO WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITHOUT GUARANTEESAnother crucial aspect of this agreement is that, to complete the purchase, Corinthians must present financial guarantees that are accepted by Flamengo. This means that the club needs to prove that it has the capacity to pay the established amount, whether through cash resources or bank guarantees, for example. If Flamengo does not accept the guarantees offered, the São Paulo club would have to make the payment immediately, in cash, to ensure the player's permanence.
