The Pedro and Filipe Luís case continues to generate controversy . Former Flamengo player Alecsandro appeared on the Panela SporTV program and expressed a strong opinion on the recent controversy involving the number 9 and the coach of the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo). The former athlete defended the striker and condemned the extensive use of technologies, such as GPS, to assess performance.
Alecsandro recalled his experience in the final stages of his career, when physical data often indicated he was the lowest on the team in sprints, speed, and movement. However, he emphasized that his role on the field as a center forward was much more specific and could not be evaluated in the same way as other players.
Alecsandro criticizes Filipe Luís: "I had a coach who didn't talk to the athlete and put the guy to play."
He continued: "Because the guy was performing well and had to play. On the other hand, when Filipe talks about the last in the physical part, the last in I don't know what... brother, Pedro is there to score goals. At the end of my career, I got this modern football with GPS. And I was always the last."
According to Alecsandro, the statistics used in soccer and training don't consider the true responsibilities and roles of each player on the field: "But I'd tell the guys: 'I'm going to score the goal and it'll end 2-1, 1-0, with a goal by me.' But I couldn't run faster than Marcos Rocha or Dudu. I was the last in my physical abilities," he said before adding:
But within the limits of my speed, I was good. So, from my perspective, he exaggerated a lot of what Filipe demanded. Pedro is a player who works in a specific area of the field, running 9 or 10 km, while a defensive midfielder runs 20 ," the former Flamengo player noted.
Thus, despite Alecsandro's criticism, coach Filipe Luís kept Pedro out of the list of players involved in the match against Santos, this Wednesday (16). Flamengo faces the São Paulo team at Vila Belmiro, at 8 pm, for the 14th round of the Brasileirão.
The player is back on Palmeiras' radar after negotiations at the start of the season, but has a clear preference for playing for Mengão.

Midfielder Andreas Pereira, 29, has once again stirred up the backrooms of Palmeiras and Flamengo . According to Goal, the player has received a new approach from the São Paulo club, which is estimating a value between 12 and 14 million euros . Despite the interest, the athlete continues to express his desire to return to the Rubro-Negro, which has not yet made an official approach.
While Flamengo held only informal talks with Andreas in early 2025, Palmeiras has been more incisive. Eight months ago, the club offered €25 million , but the midfielder declined due to his emotional attachment to the "Mais Querido." Now, the situation is different, and the negotiations are likely to take on new chapters.
In Fulham's Premier League debut against Brighton, Andreas didn't even leave the bench, fueling rumors of a possible exit . The player believes that returning to Brazilian football could be crucial to securing a place in Ancelotti's national team.
In the first half of the year, Andreas was very close to joining Palmeiras, but Fulham made it difficult to secure his release, and the deal fell through. This time, the midfielder is more willing to wear the Verdão jersey , believing that a change of scenery is the best path for his career.
While Palmeiras remains active in talks, Flamengo remains focused on the field. The team returns to the field on Monday (25), when it faces Vitória , at Maracanã, for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship, at 9 pm (Brasília time).
The midfielder is reportedly unhappy with the Hammers and sees a departure as beneficial for his future career, even though manager Graham Potter is counting on him.

Brazilian Lucas Paquetá is expected to be on the field this Thursday (22) in the duel between West Ham x Chelsea, for the Premier League. Considered one of the Hammers' main players, the midfielder trained with the starters and should start the match.
Despite his important role in the squad, Paquetá isn't having a good time at London Stadium. According to the English website Hammers News, the player no longer displays the same enthusiasm as before and is no longer the smiling figure who once commanded attention behind the scenes. He has recently become more isolated, even in relation to his own compatriots .
The situation worries West Ham 's board, which believed the athlete would be more motivated after being cleared in the investigation into alleged involvement in sports betting. However, the situation remains different than expected.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paquetá is considering changing clubs during this transfer window and has already been approached by several teams . However, there are no concrete negotiations yet. CFC News also highlighted that representatives of the Brazilian offered him to Chelsea, but the Blues have prioritized negotiations for Xavi Simons, which reduces the chances of an immediate move.
Paquetá is under contract with West Ham until June 2027 and, according to Transfermarkt, is valued at €28 million (approximately R$178 million) . The Hammers, however, would only open negotiations for a higher amount.
At the height of his 27 years, the Flamengo youth product played 36 matches last season , scoring five goals but providing no assists. In 2025/26, he has only appeared once so far, in the 3-0 defeat to Sunderland in the Premier League opener.
The player recently left the Tricolor and if he doesn't stand out in the Premier League, Mengão should look to sign him in 2026.

A fan favorite for Fluminense and currently playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers (ENG), midfielder Jhon Arias is back in the news in Brazil. According to journalist Julio Miguel Neto, Flamengo is already considering making an offer for the Colombian in the 2026 season.
Julio Miguel Neto on Fluminense idol: "in the middle of next year, Flamengo will be making an offer for Jhon Arias"
"You can tell me: in the middle of next year, Flamengo will be making an offer for Jhon Arias . This is all to Fluminense's dismay, you can write it down. They'll move a bunch of midfielders. If they do a good clean sweep, they'll let Pablo, Cebolinha, and Michael go. Sell Allan, loan Evertton Araújo; these guys are all useless," Julio stated on CanaldizFla.
According to him, there's already an internal movement at the club to monitor the player's situation in the Premier League. If Arias fails to establish himself in England, Flamengo could move forward with signing him, similar to what they did with Pedro, who joined the club from Fiorentina after leaving the club.
"If I'm Flamengo , in the middle of next year, listen to what I'm saying: I'm laying it on thick, it's something that already exists internally. If we let it go, to the dismay of Fluminense fans, in the middle of next year Flamengo will go after Jhon Arias . That is, if he doesn't perform well at Wolverhampton," he added.
After shining at Fluminense, Arias was announced by Wolverhampton Wanderers shortly after the Club World Cup . The transfer cost around 22 million euros (approximately R$142 million), with the English club acquiring 90% of the player's economic rights.
Wolves' number 10, the Colombian made his Premier League debut in a tough 4-0 defeat to Manchester City . The team is led by Vítor Pereira, former Flamengo coach, and also features Brazilians João Gomes and André.
