Arturo Vidal was officially announced by Athletico-PR this week. The player was previously with Flamengo and truly spent a great deal of time on the team's bench. According to the GOAL newspaper, one of the reasons why the 36-year-old left Mengão was because he wanted to participate more on the pitch.
Vidal's team said he chose to collaborate with the team from Paraná because he wanted to compete for the Copa Libertadores. Flamengo is also in the round of 16 of the South American championship and was even responsible for eliminating Vidal's new club from the Copa do Brasil. The teams faced each other last Wednesday (12) for the round of 16. The new athletican midfielder was at the stadium in Curitiba watching the game with his contract with Mengão already terminated.
Another reason for Vidal's departure from Mais Querido was the coach. GOAL also pointed out that the Chilean player's relationship with Jorge Sampaoli was not the best. They had already worked together in the Chilean national team. However, now, he would like to face the coach in the Copa Libertadores to give an answer on the pitch.

Next opponent of Flamengoin the Brasileirão, Vasco became the second team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The Cruzmaltina team beat Atlhetico-PR on penalties and advanced in the competition this past Wednesday (11).
