Today, Flamengo fans would look at me differently, just like Palmeiras fans do. I went to Palmeiras earning a normal salary, a normal salary. And, if I'm not mistaken, I was the first to sign a productivity contract, but I already had more insight into my career, I dedicated myself 100%. I didn't dedicate myself at Flamengo. The club is not to blame for anything, the blame for this period not working out is entirely mine " , concluded the commentator.
For Flamengo , Denílson played in 19 matches and scored only four goals. The player had been loaned by Betis (ESP) to defend Mais Querido in the 2000 Brazilian Championship .
Thus, with Denílson retired but watching Rubro-Negro, the Flamengo squad focuses its attention on the next match of the season. The Mais Querido faces Fortaleza this Sunday (1), in a game valid for the 11th round of the Brasileirão.

Commentator Denílson revealed that Filipe Luís is in no rush to renew his contract with Flamengo. The coach's contract runs until the end of the current season, and although he is highly valued internally , his lack of clarity opens the door to speculation and even potential interest from European clubs if a deal doesn't materialize.

According to Denílson, the board understands that the former full-back has already become a technical and strategic asset to the club, but the decision should be made naturally in the coming months.
During his commentary, Denílson mentioned Jorge Jesus, currently at Al-Nassr, but ruled out any possibility of the Portuguese coach returning to Flamengo . He believes the coach will be remembered only for his winning streak in 2019 and 2020, without posing a threat to the continuity of the current project.
"Filipe Luís has signaled that he doesn't want to renew yet. Flamengo said: 'Shall we renew? Wait a minute.' If Filipe Luís doesn't renew, who would be a good name for this Flamengo ? They're in a good phase and swimming with ease... But forget it, this guy (Jorge Jesus) isn't coming back ," said Denílson.
Due to the FIFA World Cup, Flamengo will be sidelined for two weeks. Filipe Luís's side will return to action on September 14th at 4pm (Brasília time) against Juventude at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship. With 47 points, Flamengo remains in the lead, followed by Cruzeiro (44) and Palmeiras (43).

While participating in a TNT Sports quiz, Wesley was asked which Flamengo player he would take to Roma. The full-back joked, "Can't it be the whole team?" When he said no, he added, " Arrascaeta would fit right in, wouldn't he ?!"
The two players began playing together at Flamengo in 2022. While Arrascaeta was already a regular starter, Wesley struggled early in his career . However, he gained ground and established himself from the final stretch of 2024, under Filipe Luís.

After more than a week without official commitments due to the FIFA Date in September, the Flamengo squad returns to activities this Wednesday (10). After the break granted on Tuesday (09), the players will return to Ninho do Urubu, at 9:30 am (Brasília time), for a training session led by coach Filipe Luís.
According to the schedule released by the club, Flamengo will have five training sessions before the next Brasileirão game . In addition to this Wednesday, the squad will also work on Thursday (11), Friday (12) and Saturday (13), always in the morning. On Saturday, after the activity, the delegation will travel to Rio Grande do Sul, where they will face Juventude on Sunday (14). The travel time will still be defined by the club.
