Real Madrid player, who is currently on loan at Granada , a Spanish second division club, Reinier , formerly of Flamengo , has failed to establish himself in European football and, after six seasons, could be on his way back to Brazil to reinforce a rival of Mais Querido.
According to information gathered by Gazeta do Urubu , Botafogo contacted Real Madrid to understand Reinier's situation. However, Corinthians also seems to be interested in the player. The 23-year-old midfielder is on loan at Granada and is not considered an absolute starter for the Granadinista club. The player played in 23 matches in the Spanish second division and was a starter on 14 occasions , scoring just one goal and contributing four assists.
At the start of the 2024/25 season, Reinier was targeted by Norwich , England , for a loan with an obligation to buy, but the conditions imposed by Real Madrid ruled out the possibility of the deal being closed . According to reports, Corinthians would be another team interested in having the midfielder.
A product of Flamengo's youth system, Renier was promoted to the club's professional team surrounded by high expectations . The midfielder had been voted the best under-17 player in the world and was promoted to the professional team in 2019 under coach Jorge Jesus, who often used the player as a 12th player in the squad.
After great performances for Mengão, the youngster was sold to Real Madrid for 30 million euros (R$ 136 million, at the time) in early 2020. After a pre-season and performances for Castilla , Madrid's youth team, Reinier was loaned sequentially to Borussia Dortmund , Girona (ESP), Frosinone (ITA) and Granada (ESP).

With the 2-1 victory, Flamengo takes the lead in the quarterfinals of the Libertadores. The return leg is scheduled for the 25th, at 9:30 pm, at the Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium, in Argentina. Before that, the team led by Tite faces Vasco next Sunday (21), for the Brazilian Championship, again at Maracanã.
