Former Flamengo midfielder could earn millions for the Rio club in a future transfer

Midfielder Vinicius Souza, a former Flamengo player, has been standing out in English football. Currently at Sheffield United, the 24-year-old player attracted interest from Fulham, who made an offer of 18 million euros (R$105 million) to sign him. However, according to information from journalist Venê Casagrande, Sheffield refused the initial proposal. Negotiations, however, remain ongoing.
Vinicius Souza has a high salary at Sheffield, which puts him on the club's list of possible negotiations this season. If the proposal of 18 million euros was accepted, Flamengo would receive 3% of the total value of the transaction, as provided for by FIFA's solidarity mechanism. This would mean an amount of 540 thousand euros, approximately R$3.1 million. With Sheffield seeking a higher value, Flamengo will be able to profit even more from a possible transfer.
POSSIBLE REUNION AT FULHAM
If the transfer to Fulham comes to fruition, Vinicius Souza would join two former Flamengo players at the English club: Rodrigo Muniz, with whom he played in the youth teams, and Andreas Pereira, who played for Flamengo in 2021. In addition to Fulham, Milan, from Italy, is also closely monitoring the situation of the midfielder.
FIFA SOLIDARITY MECHANISM
FIFA's solidarity mechanism financially compensates clubs that train players in international transactions. The percentage can reach 5% of the transfer value.
In the case of Vinicius Souza, who arrived at Flamengo at the age of 15 and remained until he was 21, the Rio club is entitled to 3% of the value of a future negotiation. This percentage is calculated based on the player's training time, with 0.25% for each year from the 12th to the 15th birthday and 0.5% for each year from the 16th to the 23rd birthday.

The relationship between coach Filipe Luís and striker Pedro is at an all-time low. With all this happening at Flamengo , the Instagram gamer profile " @adeeextv " rescued a live broadcast of the former Flamengo player and now at Fluminense, Renê. In it, Filipe Luís, at the time still a player, complains to the same Pedro, but playing Call of Duty Warzone.
This livestream took place in 2020/2021, during the Warzone 1 era with Cold War integration. Filipe Luís, Pedro, and Renê were all Flamengo players at the time. The fourth player in the squad, nicknamed "COD's Van Djik," was apparently William Arão (also a Flamengo player).

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale video game developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software, and published by Activision. Released on March 10, 2020, it is available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The game is part of the Call of Duty franchise and offers an online multiplayer experience where up to 150 players (up to 200 in some modes) compete on a large map, aiming to be the last one standing, or team standing.
At the time, it was common for Renê or Willian Arão and some Flamengo players to have fun online and generate funny videos among the club's fans, who watched and commented on their stars in online battles.

Luxemburgo claims the entire situation involving Filipe Luís and Pedro is misguided. Vanderlei Luxemburgo also claims that José Boto should have spoken out. The former coach emphasizes that it was the director's role to speak out in the press and protect the club's manager, as well as the player himself.
" Where's Boto? Who's the director of Flamengo? It's Boto . He's the one who has to go to the press and discuss this problem," concludes Vanderlei Luxemburgo, criticizing the attitude of the Mais Querido's football director.
