The 2024 season started recently, but Flamengo has already sent a message: it's coming to fight for all the titles. Therefore, the situation worries rivals even from outside Rio de Janeiro. This Tuesday (12), Luís Fabiano, São Paulo's idol, did not hide his "fear" of seeing Mais Querido as the big favorite for trophies this year

“This Flamengo scares me. This Flamengo is good defensively and with a lot of quality from midfield to forward. This Flamengo is a huge candidate to be Brazilian champion. It will definitely be a great year, because the team is good", said Luís Fabiano, appearing on the subscription channel 'ESPN Brasil'

HIGHLIGHT FOR PEDRO

Pedro is averaging one goal per game, and is being the highlight at the start of the season. The number 9 has 11 goals (nine in Carioca and two in friendlies) in 11 matches. In Luís Fabiano's view, when asked about how many more times the attacker will score goals, the bet is that he will surpass double the current mark.

“With this team there? It depends on how many games you play, but if you play 30, you have to score 15 goals. If it's 40 games, 20 goals. Minimum with this team there. The ball arrives round“, concluded Luís Fabiano, who was also a center forward, entitled to participate in the 2010 World Cup with the Brazilian team.

FOCUS ON THE NEXT MATCH

With respect of the rivals, Flamengo will try to win official titles this season and the first could come with Carioca. This is because Rubro Negro has a two-goal advantage in the State semi-final over Fluminense. Therefore, Mais Querido now focuses on the return game, which will be next Saturday (16), at 9pm, at Maracanã.
