With two terms at Flamengo, the 'Rodolfo Landim era' came to an end at Rubro-Negro at the end of 2024, when he saw Rodrigo Dunshee, the candidate for the situation, be defeated by Luiz Eduardo Baptista . As president of Mais Querido for six years, the former director won important titles for the club. This last Friday (6), the former leader recalled his time at Mengo and mentioned the title that was missing to crown his career.
Rodolfo Landim mentioned that during his terms, Flamengo reached three Libertadores finals and won two. In addition, he highlights that the Rubro-Negro also reached three Copa do Brasil finals, also winning two. The former Mengo president also mentioned the achievements of two Brasileirões, one Recopa Sul-Americana, and the Supercopa do Brasil. However, he highlights that the Club World Cup was missing from the gallery of titles.
What was missing was the World Cup. We played two. We lost a game to a great team, Liverpool (ENG), in the first final — and by details. We went to extra time", highlights Landim.
The former leader of Mais Querido adds: "Perhaps, if at that time we had a more balanced squad between starters and reserves, we could have had different luck. In fact, there was a drop when we had to make substitutions in that game ", he concluded.
Rodolfo Landim ended his tenure at Flamengo with 13 titles won in six years. The main tournaments that the Rubro-Negro won were two Libertadores, two Copa do Brasil and two Campeonato Brasileiro. The only competition in which it did not win was the Club World Cup, played in 2019 and 2022.
Flamengo will now play in another Club World Cup, now under Bap's management. The Flamengo delegation will travel to the United States on June 11. The Mais Querido will make its debut in the Super World Cup on the 16th, against Esperánce (TUN), at 10 pm (Brasília time), at Lincoln Financial Field. On the 20th, Rubro-Negro will face Chelsea at the same stadium. Finally, on the 24th, Mengo will face Los Angeles FC.
Mengão defeated the Tijucanas by 3 sets to 1, guaranteeing a place in the Cariocão final, where they will face their rival Fluminense.

After the setback against Fluminense in the previous round, Bernardinho's team reacted with authority and won by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25/21, 25/23 and 25/23.
Despite a brief stumble in the third set, when the opponent showed a strong reaction , Mais Querido maintained control of the match for most of the time and ensured its return to the state final.
The first two sets had a similar storyline: Sesc Flamengo dominated technically and tactically, but faced resistance from Tijuca Tênis Clube. In the first, the red-and-black team opened up a six-point lead, but saw their opponent close in late in the set, finishing 25-21.
The balance continued in the second set. The teams were tied at 20-20, until Mengão managed to open up a two-point lead and close it out at 25-23, extending their lead.
