Former Deputy of Finance of Flamengo, who left office to support Bap in the elections, Rodrigo Tostes spoke about the statement released by the club this Wednesday (4). Rubro-Negro released a letter to refute Luiz Eduardo Baptista's statements against the purchase of Leixões, from Portugal, and stated that the project will result in fewer costs than those presented by Tostes in the past. But the former VP denies it.

The document says that the electoral process cannot allow “irresponsible conclusions or accusations”. And, when defending the agreement that has been structured by the current management, he states that the contract will be more advantageous than the Tondela purchase project presented by Rodrigo Tostes and Claudio Pracownik. This is because the duo's proposal, which today supports Bap, “would require the payment of millions of Euros”

However, in an interview with the newspaper 'O Globo', Tostes presented project material that indicates expenditure entirely made by investors. Flamengo would enter with the brand and technical knowledge, in addition to stating that only teams from the first division were suggested, which is not the case with Leixões.

“The official note is a lie! Just one reading of the material we presented to various investors proves the following: (I) the Club would not make financial contributions and this has always been the most important premise, (II) the consultancy only suggested a partnership with teams competing in the first division of the Portuguese Championship, for the obvious reasons of the very low relevance of the second division; (III) the same consultancy and the bank would be remunerated by the investor only in case of success of the project.”

In the end, he accuses the note of being a lie and a way for management to use the club to campaign: “In short, the official note is a big lie and electoral smoke conveyed with the Club’s resources and brands, in other words, an immoral use of the administrative machine,” said Rodrigo Tostes.

The talks for the purchase of < a href="http://flamengo.com.br" target="_blank">Tondela took place in 2021. The Portuguese club competed in the first division and belonged to the Hope Group, but relegation cooled the deal and resulted in a hiatus in the idea of having a club in Portugal. Today, the board is organizing to take the agreement with Leixões to the Deliberative Council.

Bap says he will cancel the agreement with Leixões if he is elected president of Flamengo

Flamengo's note was motivated by Bap's statements in a recent interview. He states that the purchase of the Portuguese club is “foolish” and indicates that he is “serving interests other than those of Flamengo”.

“What will internationalize the Flamengo brand is to get the clean signal from Globo , take the Flamengo signal to any hole in the world. Portugal's second division? This is nonsense. […] This will not happen at Flamengo. This is a bad joke. And this can only be serving interests other than those of Flamengo. […] If this happens, we will undo it on the first day that we win the elections”, said Bap.

President Rodolfo Landim defends the idea as not only to internationalize the Flamengo brand, but also increase the club's financial gains. This is because it would be a direct path for young people without a place in the professional world and who would have the chance to develop in a European club, a business model that already generates profits for Fla.

“We see a lot of gains in this. The expansion of the Flamengo brand is one of them, but, in addition, it is a fact that the Portuguese market, even in Series B, achieves a greater appreciation of athletes than the Brazilian market. In fact, we have already carried out some operations with clubs in this market, in which athletes without a place in the professional ranks went to Portugal and gained value

In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.

The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.

According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.

Eduardo Paes guarantees that the removal is the responsibility of Rio's city hall.

Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.

“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.

Last week, children who practice judo in the social project Jogaremos Juntos, promoted by Flamengo's Social Responsibility, had an unforgettable experience. They visited the club's headquarters, in Gávea, and trained alongside Flamengo's judo teachers and athletes, experiencing a day full of learning, discipline and sportsmanship.

In total, 70 children, from centers of Cantagalo and Queimados, had the chance to practice judo under the guidance of high-level professionals, reinforcing the values of the sport, such as respect, determination and teamwork.

At the dojô, the children were welcomed by the coach of the under-13 and under-15 red-black judo teams, Rodrigo Domiciano, who, together with club athletes, shared his experiences and spoke about the importance of dedication to progress in the sport. “In the midst of so many negative references, it is essential that these children have positive references. Here they can see that it is possible to reach a higher degree, seek a black belt, seek important competitions and this will change their realities”, he said.

For many, the day was a unique opportunity to become inspire, dream big and continue following the path of sport. “The children came very excited. They've been talking about coming here to Flamengo for a week. It's important for them to be here, in a different place, with so much structure... This all makes them want to dedicate themselves more”, said professor Alves, who teaches judo at Jogaremos Juntos - Núcleo Queimados. Cantagalo resident Leda Maria Pereira de Macedo, mother of student Davi, added. “Children who live in communities need sports so they don't get lost and judo has already got my son back on track. He now has discipline, he has become another child! Davi takes a shower, goes to bed early... I'm very happy. I'm very grateful to have the project there”, she praised.

With its own methodology, Jogaremos Juntos is an education project through sport, based on socio-emotional skills. Through it, children and young people have the opportunity to work on self-knowledge, resilience, empathy, focus and other skills that they learn from sports and put into practice to face and overcome challenges in life, whether at school, in family or with friends.

In total, the project serves 800 children in six communities in Rio de Janeiro - Cantagalo Pavão Pavãozinho, Complexo do Alemão, Vila Aliança, Morro do Banco, Santa Cruz and Queimados - with classes football, judo, basketball, artistic gymnastics and volleyball. The project is encouraged by the Federal Sports Incentive Law and has Shell as a sponsor.
