The Flamengo market remains busy. The club has been looking for alternatives to reinforce itself, mainly in the midfield and attack. However, there is a possibility of players leaving the red and black. Mais Querido has two proposals for defensive line athletes, full-back Wesley and defender Fabrício Bruno, the latter closest to having the sale completed.
This is because the board understands that, in the case of the 28-year-old player, years to leave the club, there would already be replacement within the red and black squad. Flamengo currently has Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira, David Luiz and Cleiton, as well as Fabrício Bruno, as defenders in the group. The football leadership understands that young Cleiton would be the “home reinforcement” and would have more opportunities in the team with Fabrício going to Rennes in France. The information was first given by journalist Venê Casagrande.
Rennes' proposal is 15 million euros (R$ 90 million), with 13.5 million fixed (R$ 81 million) plus 1.5 million in goals (R$9 million). The club set a deadline for defining the defender's negotiation. August 19th, next Monday. Between Fabrício Bruno and the French team, the situation is well underway.
Despite not wanting to get rid of one of the squad's starters, the red and black leadership understands that such a generous offer for a player from 28 years would not be likely. It is worth remembering that Flamengo had a deficit of R$79 million in the first half of the year and the proceeds from the sale could help cover the loss, if the club is unable to reach the goals set in the budget.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

One of Flamengo's main players in 2024, Gerson has been fundamental under Tite's command. Last Sunday (15), in a 1-1 draw with Vasco, the midfielder scored Rubro-Negro's goal and stood out once again. This year, Gerson leads the list of Serie A athletes with the most minutes on the field since returning from surgery at the beginning of the season.
In March 2024, Gerson underwent kidney surgery due to hydronephrosis, a problem kidney that kept him away from Flamengo for around a month and a half. Since his return, the athlete has participated in all 37 Flamengo matches, in addition to two more for the Brazilian National Team.

Of Flamengo's 37 games since the medical problem, Gerson started 32. The midfielder was a substitute in the first three matches of the Brasileirão, while he regained his rhythm after surgery, and was also on the bench in the duel against Botafogo, after playing 90 minutes against Bolívar (BOL) at altitude, in the group stage of the Libertadores.
After that, Gerson started 21 consecutive matches as a starter. He returned to the bench only in the game against São Paulo, in the second round of the Brasileirão return, when Tite opted for an alternative team. Gerson entered the final part of that match.
Next AppointmentWith Gerson available, Flamengo is preparing for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Fla will face Peñarol (URU) this Thursday (19), at 7pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. The return game is scheduled for September 26th, at the same time, at the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, in Montevideo.
