Mengão is about to make the signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio official, according to information from Italian websites. The player, who was playing in Greek football on loan from Lazio, is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro next week to undergo medical examinations.
The signing of Marcos Antônio responds to a specific request from coach Tite, who sees great potential in the young midfielder to strengthen the Flamengo squad. The agreement is a season-long loan, with a purchase option set at 4 million euros. The official announcement is expected to happen by next week.
Marcos Antônio, despite not having success at Lazio, where he played just 22 games and scored one goal, he had an outstanding performance at Shakhtar Donetsk, in Ukraine, where he played in more than 100 matches.
