In an electrifying clash, Flamengo managed to snatch a 1-1 draw with Athletico-PR this Sunday, at Ligga Arena, in the 9th round of the Brasileirão. The highlight of the match was young Everton Araújo's first goal in professional football, guaranteeing a positive result for the Rio team in the last minute of the game.
Fernandinho, an Athletico-PR player, left the pitch and criticized arbitration in an interview with Grupo Globo. The veteran mentioned that some of Anderson Daronco's decisions left something to be desired, contributing to the atmosphere of controversy during the match.
“It was a game in which anything could happen. Obviously, several factors can influence, as today, some arbitration decisions that leave something to be desired. But, anyway, this is our football, we have to know how to live with it”, said Athletico's number 5.
Flamengo's next game will be against Bahia, at Maracanã, in the tenth round of the Brazilian Championship. The match is scheduled for Thursday (20), at 8pm (Brasília time). The confrontation is crucial for Rubro-Negro, which seeks to maintain its leadership in the national competition table.
Coach Tite, who was suspended in the clash against Athletico-PR, will be back to lead Flamengo against Bahia. However, the team will still have important absences due to the call-ups for the Copa América: Matías Viña, Varela, Nicolás De La Cruz, De Arrascaeta and Erick Pulgar remain out of the team.

The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.
The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.
Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.

FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.
The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.
The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.
In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. Controversy involving Daronco marks round of the Brazilian Championship

Flamengo has not yet entered the field in the Brazilian Championship round, but ended up being mentioned in a controversy involving Fluminense . Last Saturday (10), Tricolor das Laranjeiras lost to Vasco 2-0, with a controversial goal from Veggetti.
During the post-game press conference, the president of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt, harshly criticized the performance of referee Daronco. The agent questioned the validity of Vasco's first goal, claiming that the ball had touched the center forward's hand before being completed.
Bittencourt expressed dissatisfaction with the level of refereeing in Brazilian football, remembering that Flamengo had also been harmed in a recent match against Palmeiras.
“My coming here today was not specifically for the mistake, but rather for the lack of quality and capacity, which we see every day in Brazilian football. (…) During the week, there was a mistake against Flamengo and so on”, highlighted Bittencourt.
The president of Fluminense also pointed out that, after the game, both Flamengo and Palmeiras filed complaints about the arbitration, without there being effective consequences. “It’s not possible for two clubs like Flamengo and Palmeiras to complain about the refereeing and nothing happens. Today there is another club complaining about the same arbitration”, commented Bittencourt.
