Yesterday morning, the Human Development Department of Flamengo organized a special talk for the club's young under-12 players. The guest to speak to the kids was Filipe Luís, coach of the under-17s and future commander of Flamengo's under-20s. During the conversation, which took place at the club's Training Center, a moment of relaxation caught everyone's attention.

While Filipe Luís shared his experiences and guidance with the young athletes, one of the boys raised his hand and , with the spontaneity characteristic of his age, asked a question that made everyone laugh: “Filipe Luís, is playing with Gabigol cool?” The coach, who is known for his good humor and ease in connecting with players, laughed along with those present before responding to the boy's curiosity.

CHILDREN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The lecture was part of a series of activities promoted by Flamengo's Human Development Department, which aims not only at the technical development of athletes, but also at forming conscious citizens prepared for the challenges of life on and off the field. Second Filipe Luís, the chat was an opportunity to share his experiences in professional football and pass on some valuable lessons to the club's young talents.

The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.

The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.

Victory to respect

Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.

Superliga

The dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.

In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.

The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.

What will the Super Mundial be like?

< The competition organized by FIFA will be played for the first time with 32 teams next year. The United States will host the first edition of the tournament in this format. The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups with four teams each, with them facing each other in a single round. The top two in each group will advance to the round of 16. The knockout stage will be played in a single game.

The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.

In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

On Thursday afternoon (26), the Flamengoguaranteed its place in the final of the Carioca Under-20 Championship by beating Boavista 2-0, in a game played in the Gavea. Under the command of Filipe Luís, the team managed to impose themselves on the field and confirm their favoritism. The goals were scored by Iago and Guilherme Gomes, both standing out in offensive plays and consolidating the result that gave Rubro-Negro classification.

In the first game, Flamengo had drawn with Boavista by 1 to 1, with Mengão's goal scored by Shirt 10, Guilherme Gomes. This result left the team in a situation where they needed a simple victory to advance. Filipe Luís, who has done consistent work at the head of the U20, opted for a balanced tactical scheme, and the team responded from the beginning.

The Flamengostarted the second leg with an offensive stance and put pressure on the opponent in the first minutes. Seven minutes into the game, Rubro-Negro opened the scoring with a header from Iago. The move began with a precise corner kick made by Guilherme Gomes, who found the captain free in the area to score the net and put Flamengo in the lead.

With the goal early, Flamengo controlled the pace and had control of the actions in the first stage. Boavista, on the other hand, tried to reorganize itself on the field, but found it difficult to advance due to Flamengo's strong marking. The red and black defensive system, with Iago and Da Mata, was safe, neutralizing Boavista's attacks and giving peace of mind to goalkeeper Lucas Furtado.

Coach Filipe Luís selected the team with Lucas Furtado in goal; Daniel Sales, Iago, Da Mata and Carbone forming the defensive line; in the middle, Rayan Lucas, Jean Carlos and Guilherme Gomes provided support in the transition and created good opportunities; and in attack, Germano, Felipe Teresa and Wallace Yan sought to put pressure on the opposing defense.

The second goal came at the beginning of the second half, after another well-constructed play by the midfield. Guilherme Gomes appeared again, this time as a finisher, taking advantage of a rebound inside the area and placing the ball in the back of the goal. With the score 2-0, Flamengo started to manage the result, but still had opportunities to extend the advantage.
