Flamengo received another reinforcement for the rest of the season. After officializing the signings of Saúl, Emerson Royal and Samuel Lino , it was the turn of Colombian Jorge Carrascal to land in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday afternoon (30). The 27-year-old midfielder left Russia after a trip of more than 19 hours, coming to reinforce the red-black squad.
Carrascal's arrival is part of a significant investment by the Mais Querido. To close the deal with Dynamo Moscow, the Brazilian club agreed to pay 12 million euros, equivalent to approximately R$77.5 million at the current exchange rate . The player is now going through the final stages before his official signing.
Carrascal begins his commitments with the Rio de Janeiro club this Thursday (31). The schedule includes medical exams, a visit to the CT George Helal facilities and a meeting with the Technical Director of Football, José Boto. After completing these steps, the athlete will sign a contract with Mengão, which should precede the official announcement.
Flamengo is working to introduce Carrascal directly to the Maracanã stadium ahead of the Copa do Brasil round of 16 match against Atlético-MG. The plan is to replicate the format adopted with Samuel Lino, who was announced on Tuesday and will also be at the stadium.
Negotiations between Flamengo and Dynamo Moscow began even before the Club World Cup, but were only concluded in recent days. The Rio de Janeiro club had to reformulate the original proposal , adjusting the amounts and payment terms, to convince the Russians to release the player. Although the terms were agreed in early July, the transfer was only finalized this week.
Tickets for the clash between the teams at Arena Fonte Nova are now on sale; more than 40,000 fans confirmed before the general opening.

Flamengo faces Bahia this Sunday (5), for the 27th round of the Brasileirão, and one of the major concerns for the duel is the state of the Arena Fonte Nova pitch . The topic has already generated recent debates and was commented on again, now by coach Filipe Luís and midfielder Saúl.
Filipe Luís on the pitch for Bahia vs. Flamengo: "It hurts both teams"
After the draw against Cruzeiro , Filipe Luís emphasized that Flamengo is accustomed to different field conditions and that the team is prepared to overcome this challenge: " We are used to playing on different types of grass, different pitches, and even with different balls . The players are adapted and prepared to face Bahia even with the poor pitch and seek victory," said the coach.
In the last match held at Fonte Nova, between Palmeiras and Bahia, Abel Ferreira complained a lot about the conditions of the field , while Rogério Ceni responded, remembering that the problem also hinders the Bahian team, which values ball possession.
Filipe Luís followed the same line and recognized that the situation could harm both sides: “ I don’t know if there has been any improvement since the last game , but as Rogério himself said, it harms both teams,” concluded the coach.
Like the coach, Saúl also emphasized the importance of adaptation. The Spanish midfielder emphasized that Flamengo is ready to change its style of play if necessary in search of a positive result: "We have to adapt: to the pitch, the weather, and whatever comes our way. If we can't play our style, we'll play differently to win," he declared.
Flamengo and Bahia face each other this Sunday (5), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Fonte Nova, with broadcast by Premiere (on pay-per-view) . In the first round, at Maracanã, Rubro-Negro won 1-0, with a goal from Arrascaeta.
