After the victory of Luiz Eduardo Baptista for Flamengo's presidency last week, Rio's red-black team went through new elections this Monday (16). This time, the club's members chose Ricardo Lomba as the new president of the Deliberative Council for the three-year period 2025-2027. Rubro-Negro's vice-president of football in management Eduardo Bandeira de Mello defeated Álvaro Ferreira by 943 votes to 171.
Lomba has the support of Luiz Eduardo Baptista, elected president of Flamengo, and also Maurício Gomes de Mattos, third place in last week's red-black elections. Furthermore, this Monday's winner (16) has the support of former representatives Márcio Braga and Eduardo Bandeira de Mello. New president of the Deliberative Council, Ricardo Lomba is 56 years old and takes over the portfolio with Sílvio Bastos as vice. Officially unveiled this Monday wearing the number 15 jersey, Jorge Carrascal arrived at the club with high expectations. Coming from Dynamo Moscow, the Colombian was considered a potential replacement for Arrascaeta , but he refuted the idea of a rivalry with the Uruguayan, a regular starter since 2019.
