However, Alejandro Dominguez, president of Conmebol, signaled that it is necessary to give a chance to other South American countries that have not yet received the decision, such as Argentina.
FLAMENGO AND MARACANÃDue to the Libertadores final at Maracanã, on November 4th, the CBF postponed the game between Flamengo and Bragantino, as the Rio stadium will need to be closed days before the decision for care. According to the publication, the game will take place at the recently renovated Monumental de Nuñez, River Plate's stadium. The entity has not yet officially commented.
The Copa Libertadores 2024 final is scheduled for November 30th, a Saturday. It will be the sixth unique final of the competition since the model was adopted in 2019. The Monumental de Nuñez has undergone extensive renovation in recent years and has become the stadium with the largest audience capacity on the South American continent. The River Plate field holds 85 thousand people.
Conmebol established the only final of its continental cups in 2019. In the case of the Libertadores, the finals were held in Lima (2019), Rio de Janeiro (2020 ), Montevideo (2021), Guayaquil (2022), Rio de Janeiro (2023). The Argentine capital has been the favorite since before the start of the current edition of the Libertadores. Conmebol announced that the Libertadores final would be in Buenos Aires, but did not say which stadium.
