Last Tuesday (1), Zenit deposited the amount of Gerson's termination fee, 25 million euros (R$ 160 million). However, the player has not yet been released by Flamengo, which is still waiting for the bank's validation for the sale to be completed.

According to information from journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira, Gerson will only be allowed to report to Zenit after confirmation that the amounts sent by Zenit are valid for receipt. The Mais Querido advocates caution due to the economic embargoes imposed on Russian banks due to the war against Ukraine, as it requires rigorous verification of international financial transactions.

FLAMENGO WILL ALSO CHARGE GERSON FOR MILLION-DOLLAR CLAUSE

According to information from journalist Venê Casagrande, Flamengo 's legal department is already preparing to take action against Gerson to collect a contractual clause that provides for a fine of around R$50 million , related to image rights.

The board of directors of Mais Querido will not give up the amount, since Gerson broke his contract with the club. Therefore, if the player does not pay off the debt, the case may end up in court , where Rubro-Negro has a good chance of winning.

ABOUT THAT...

While the amount deposited by Zenit is still being evaluated, Gerson is already preparing to travel to Russia. The Russian team has even prepared a private jet to take the midfielder to the country, so that he can report as soon as possible and be integrated into the squad.

With solid performances, the goalkeeper confirms his status as a promising young player. He will have played 17 official matches in 2025 and has established himself as one of the most promising players of the 2007 generation.

Despite the two teams' different moments in the table, striker Osvaldo showed confidence in seeking a good result in Rio de Janeiro.

"We're going to Maracanã and trying to play a great game. We haven't lost at Maracanã in a few games, so I think we can build on that to put in a great performance. Flamengo is a tough opponent; they're the best team in our football world , and they've been achieving great results," the striker declared, before adding:

"But on the field, it's 11 against 11, especially against Vitória, who have a history of playing great games and surprising in several matches. I think we have what it takes to get there and get a great result . We know how difficult the game will be," Osvaldo concluded.
