Flamengo officially renewed its contract with Adidas, becoming the Brazilian club with the biggest agreement with a supplier of sports equipment. According to information from the "Lance!" website, the new contract provides for a fixed value of R$70 million per season, which could reach R$100 million with the achievement of established goals.
The values of the new contract do Flamengo with Adidas significantly surpass agreements with other Brazilian clubs. The partnership between Puma and Palmeiras, valued at R$42 million, and Corinthians' contract with Nike, worth R$30 million, are well below Rubro-Negro's new agreement. With this, Flamengo takes the lead in terms of sports sponsorship in Brazil.
The impact of the contract is not restricted to the national territory. The amounts that will be paid to Flamengo by Adidas exceed the agreements of major European clubs, such as Ajax, Roma, Benfica and Lyon, all of which have lower value contracts with the German brand.
