Two of the CRF's most experienced players are in the final stages of their contracts, with their future still uncertain. Gabigol, the club's idol, and defender David Luiz have contracts valid until December 31, 2024. The uncertainty about whether they will stay raises discussions behind the scenes, especially with the presidential elections approaching.
The situation of defender David Luiz is delicate. Although his name is well evaluated within the current management, led by Rodolfo Landim, who supports Rodrigo Dunshee, the defender's continuity in the squad is not seen with the same enthusiasm by other wings of the club.
David Luiz had his contract was automatically renewed in January this year, after fulfilling the clause of playing in at least 20 matches, with 45 minutes on the field in each one. As a result, his contract was extended until the end of 2024. If Dunshee wins the elections, it is likely that Mengão will propose a renewal for another year.
The agreement, however, must be signed without an increase salary and without the payment of gloves. David Luiz has already expressed interest in remaining at the club, but the final decision should only take place after the presidential election.
The Mais Querido elections, scheduled for December, will be fundamental in defining the future of the two athletes. Depending on who takes charge, priorities and decisions about hiring and renewals may change.

Former Flamengo player, Arturo Vidal, returned to the spotlight after his team's 1-1 draw and River Plate in the Libertadores quarter-finals. Known for his controversial style, the Chilean took advantage of the result to provoke the Argentine team's players, stating that he has more titles than all the members of the opposing squad.
After the confrontation, Vidal did not mince words. "If we compare the titles, I have more than all the River players", said the midfielder, who won the Libertadores with Flamengo in 2022. After losing the first game of the quarter-finals 1-0, Mais Querido needs a comeback against Peñarol, in the return game that will be held this Thursday (26), at 7pm, at the Campeón Del Siglo stadium, in Montevideo.

For the first time in the history of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, the presidential election will be held using electronic voting machines, provided by the Regional Electoral Court (TRE). The election is scheduled for December 9, 2024, according to an official statement issued this Tuesday (24) by the president of the club's General Assembly, Carlos Henrique Fernandes.
ELECTION WITH ELECTRONIC VOTING BOXES
In the notice sent to members, the club informed that voting will take place from 8am to 9pm, at the Hélio Mauricio Gymnasium, at the Gávea headquarters. To participate, it will be mandatory to present ID, CNH or other document with photo that contains the CPF number, in addition to the club's social card.
Unlike government elections, in the Mais Querido election there will be the printing of a proof of the result. The adoption of electronic voting machines should speed up the counting process, which, in previous years, used to take hours. In the last election, for example, the difference between second and third place was decided by just one vote.
The election will be 100% in person, with voting taking place on December 9th, from 8am to 9pm, in Gávea. The process promises to be more agile, thanks to the use of electronic voting machines, and the participation of members will be essential to define the next president of the CRF.

After Flamengo's defeat to Grêmio, in a game valid for the 27th round of the Brasileirão, Tite promised that Mais Querido would score goals in Uruguay, in the return match against Peñarol. David Luiz was asked about the topic and approved the commander's diagnosis.
David Luiz approved Tite's speech and promised dedication until the final minutes of the game in Montevideo: “Amen, amen! This is how we have to think, aspire and fight until the end”, said David in the mixed area of Arena do Grêmio.

However, Rubro-Negro must pay attention, as a draw on a normal score means Peñarol will qualify.
Now, Flamengo's squad focuses on the big decision against Peñarol, in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Mais Querido returns to the field next Thursday (26), at 7pm, in Uruguay. Remembering that Rubro-Negro needs to reverse the 1-0 score to qualify for the semi-finals.
