Mais Querido has a decisive game against Peñarol
|
0The protests by Flamengo fans, who demand the immediate departure of coach Tite, including graffiti on the walls of the club's headquarters Gávea, should not cause drastic changes in team command. According to information released by the portal O Globo, the club's management has already indicated that it does not intend to fire the coach, even if Mengão is eliminated from the Libertadores in the game against Peñarol, in Uruguay.
Despite criticism and pressure from fans, Tite and his coaching staff continue to lead Mais Querido until the end of 2024, with a contract in force until December. The current administration shows no interest in renewing the relationship with the coach, but intends to keep him in the position until the end of the competitions that the team still competes in.
If elimination in the Libertadores is confirmed, the Rio club They still have the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil to look forward to, where they will face Corinthians in October. In the Brasileirão, the CRF's situation became more complicated, with the title increasingly distant.
Although the protests are focused on the coach's departure, the club's board, curiously, has not been the target of the demonstrations. Before the match against Grêmio, some members of organized supporters even visited the CT to provide support to the players, without directly mentioning the technical command or the board.
Uruguayan club promises to expel and ban fans who make racist gestures
|
0With just a few days to go before the second leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals, Peñarol used its social networks this Monday (23) to issue an important statement to its fans. The Uruguayan team warned that any gesture of a racist nature during the game against Flamengo, at the Campeón del Siglo stadium, will be severely punished.
In the official statement, Peñarol stated that it will expel from its membership any fan who is identified as committing racist acts during the match. Furthermore, the offender will be added to a "black list" of problematic fans, which will prevent them from entering future sporting events.
The club highlighted the importance of respect in football and reinforced that it seeks an environment of coexistence and integration between everyone involved in the sport. "It depends on everyone that this is the case", concludes the statement.
"Peñarol informs that any person who is identified at the Campeón del Siglo making any racist gesture towards fans or athletes of the rival team will be immediately expelled from all the Club's social records and will be sent permanently to the black list, so that they cannot return to participate in a sporting event. At Peñarol, we believe in football as a factor of coexistence based on respect and integration."
Peñarol's warning comes a few days after CRF striker Carlinhos reported having been the target of racist gestures during the game against Grêmio, in Porto Alegre, last Sunday (22). The player stated that he heard monkey imitations as he left the field after being sent off.
Grêmio fan is accused of racism after the attacker was expelled from the Arena
|
0After Grêmio's 3-2 victory over Flamengo at the Arena, a possible case of racial insult involving striker Carlinhos, from the Rio team, came to light, diverting the focus from the result on the field. According to the player, he heard monkey imitations coming from the stands shortly after being sent off. Furthermore, a video released by the website Lance! showed a fan allegedly calling the athlete a "monkey".
In response to the episode, Mais Querido issued an official note on its social networks, condemning the behavior and reporting what happened. However, Grêmio's legal director, Luiz Paulo Germano, categorically refuted the accusations, calling the situation "scumbag" and stating that there is no concrete evidence to support the accusation of racial insult.
In turn , Grêmio also officially commented on the incident. The club reported that it spoke to the fan involved, who denied any racial offense. The Grêmio player claimed to have just shouted "are you mad?" after seeing Carlinhos break the VAR booth. The club reiterated its firm position against any form of racism, but argued that, in this specific case, there was no insult.
The controversy involving Carlinhos began after his expulsion in the game against Imortal last Sunday (22). The attacker received a straight red card for a controversial move, without the referee reviewing the incident in VAR. Outraged, upon leaving the field, the player threw a punch at the VAR booth, breaking the acrylic structure.
Referee Matheus Candançan recorded what happened in the match summary, stating that the player was sent off for " violent conduct" after slapping Walter Kannemann in the face outside the ball dispute. Carlinhos now runs the risk of being punished by the STJD, which will analyze the athlete's conduct.
CONSEQUENCES FOR FLAMENGO AND NEXT STEPS
With the accusation of racial insult and the possible punishment for Carlinhos, Mengão is facing a delicate moment both on the field and off it. The club, which has already spoken out against racism, awaits the outcome of the investigation and the STJD's decision on the attacker's behavior.
