On Thursday night (12), Flamengo secured a place in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil by beating Bahia 1-0, in a packed Maracanã. With 60,839 paying customers and more than 65 thousand present, Mais Querido broke the Brazilian football attendance record in 2024, surpassing the previous mark, which was also held by the club itself.

The match between Flamengo and Bahia recorded a new record for paying audiences for the season. The audience of 60,839 fans at the stadium surpassed the 60,536 present in the clash against Bolívar, valid for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Furthermore, the total of 65,662 present broke the general record, surpassing the 65,381 who were at Maracanã in that game against the Bolivian team.

With this mark, Mengão now dominates eight of the ten biggest box offices of 2024 in the Brazilian football, consolidating its strength in the stadiums and the loyalty of its fans. These numbers only consider the paying public, but they demonstrate the club's mobilization power.

NEXT GAME: CLASSIC AGAINST VASCO

Next Sunday (15), CRF returns to the field for another great clash, this time for the Brazilian Championship. The team will face Vasco da Gama in another packed Maracanã, at 6pm. The classic already promises to be another attendance record, as the last meeting between the teams, in the 6-1 Red-Black rout, had 62,228 attendees, the biggest figure in the Brasileirão so far.

In addition to the expectation of another large audience, the reunion with Vasco brings the rival's desire for revenge, after Flamengo's historic victory in the last duel. Ticket sales for the general public begin this Friday (13th), with high expectations of sellouts. b>

The support of the red and black fans has been crucial in the decisive games of the season. The strength of the stands at Maracanã has helped the team maintain a consistent campaign, both in the Copa do Brasil, the Brasileirão and the Libertadores. The energy coming from the stands has been a difference, and the club hopes that this will continue to drive the squad in the next challenges.
