Without magic or tricks, Flamengo is preparing to face Sesi Franca in the second game of the NBB CAIXA Finals, after a disappointing performance in the first clash. Didi, the team's standout, emphasized the need to recover the performance of the regular season and playoffs, where Flamengo accumulated eight victories before the final. Last Saturday (01/06), Rubro-Negro lost 69 to 56 at Maracanãzinho, far from their best basketball.

Flamengo's main challenge lies in their offensive performance, which saw just 21 % on 3-point shots and 50% on 2-point shots. Didi highlighted the importance of correcting the mistakes made in the first game and preparing adequately for the next clash, which will take place on Thursday (06/06) at Pedrocão, broadcast on ESPN, Sportv, NBB CAIXA YouTube, NBB BasquetPass, Jumper and FlaTV.

ADJUSTMENTS AND FOCUS ON VICTORY

The four-day break between games has been used by coach Gustavo de Conti to adjust the team. According to Didi, the team is focused on seeking a draw in the series, emphasizing the need to play with the same strength and aggression that took them to the final. "Our stance will be different, we are very focused and we will enter the court in search of a draw in the series", said Didi.

CHALLENGE AT PEDROCÃO< /b>

Pedrocão is familiar territory for Didi, who previously played for Sesi Franca and recognizes the difficulty of playing as a visitor in the gym. "Pedrocão is one of the most important places in Brazilian basketball, a gym full of history and that breathes basketball. It's not easy to play as a visitor there. The fans are passionate, they play together with the team and do everything they can to push Franca", highlighted.

RESPECT FOR THE OPPONENT

Despite the challenge, Didi maintains respect and affection for Sesi Franca, the club where he had important moments in his career. "Everyone knows the story I have with Franca, the affection I have for everyone there. Today I wear the Flamengo shirt and I will do my best to help my team become champions, but the friendships I made, the respect for Franca, for the city, for the club and for the fans, it will always be the same", he concluded.

In a tense game at Maracanã, marked by the fans' dissatisfaction, Flamengo achieved an important victory against Athletico-PR in the final minutes. Gerson's goal, in the 44th minute of the second half, brought a breather to coach Tite, who had been heavily criticized throughout the match.

The decisive play began with a beautiful exchange of passes between Arrascaeta, De La Cruz and Wesley, who found Gerson free to head and open the scoring.  The fans, who protested intensely with chants of “shameless team”, exploded in celebration after the goal.

Up until that moment, the pressure on the coach and the red and black squad had reached a critical point, especially when the team was facing difficulties in controlling the game and creating clear chances. Even with the victory, the fans who were present did not enjoy the victory and protested at the end of the game: "You have to be willing."

During the game the fans protested the entire time against Tite, Landim and Marcos Braz. At Maracanã there were more than 28 thousand people present, the worst of the season so far.

FLAMENGO REMAINS AT THE TOP OF THE TABLE

With the hard-fought victory, Flamengo remains in 4th place in the Brazilian Championship, adding 45 points. Although the result momentarily relieved the pressure on Tite, CRF still faces a challenging sequence of games and needs to find more consistency to remain competitive and fight for the top spots in the table.
