Flamengo is preparing for a decisive clash against Bahia next Thursday (12), at 9:45 pm ( of Brasília), at the Maracanã Stadium. Rubro-Negro, which has a favorable record at home, intends to use its advantage to advance to the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil.
In 21 matches played against Bahia at Maracanã, Flamengo accumulated 13 victories, five draws and three defeats. The Steel Squadron doesn't beat Flamengo at the stadium since 2011, when they won 3-1 in the Brazilian Championship. In that game, Titi, Dodô and Souza scored for Bahia, while Renato Abreu scored for the Cariocas.
Another factor favorable to Flamengo is the recent history against Bahia's current coach, Rogério Ceni. During his time at Flamengo between 2020 and 2021, Ceni failed to beat his former team in 13 clashes, accumulating 13 defeats.
With a 1-0 victory in the first game, in Salvador, Flamengo only needs a draw to guarantee their qualification for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. If the club advances, it will be the fourth consecutive season that Flamengo reaches this stage of the tournament.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

This Monday (16), rumors emerged involving Bahia's interest in signing Gabigol, striker from Mais Querido. According to the channel Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Tricolor de Aço would have entered the dispute for Gabigol, who has a contract with Flamengojust until December this year. In addition to Bahia, clubs such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos would also be keeping an eye on the player.
Despite the speculation, the Bahia board was quick to deny any ongoing negotiations to count on the shirt 99 from Mengão. According to the club's leadership, there is no intention of repeating an operation similar to that carried out with Everton Ribeiro.
As soon as news of the supposed interest began to circulate, Bahia tried to clarify the situation. In a statement, the club's senior management stated that there are no negotiations to sign Gabigol for next season.
