0Flamengo is close to signing Paraguayan midfielder Jorge Mora, a name that was also in Fortaleza's sights. The 18-year-old player, who currently plays for Sol de América, is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Cariocas. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.
Raúl González, president of Sol de América, had indicated that Fortaleza was in negotiations to acquire 80% of the athlete's rights. Although he mentioned Flamengo as a possible competitor, González believed that the agreement with Leão was close to being finalized.
Jorge Mora, who turned 18 in July, is a promise of Paraguayan football and has already participated in the country's youth teams. The young midfielder, who plays mainly on the flanks of the field and is left-handed, was revealed by Sol de América.
NEXT STEPS AT FLAMENGO
According to Venê Casagrande, Mora will initially join Flamengo's under-20 team. However, the red and black board also intends to offer opportunities to the athlete in the main squad, as part of its strategy for developing young talents.
LATEST MORA'S PARTICIPATION
Jorge Mora's last game took place on May 5, in the Paraguayan Championship, when he played 47 minutes in Sol de América's 1-0 victory against 2 de Mayo. Since then, the young midfielder has not played for the main team.
