The finals of the Copa do Brasil you already have your teams, locations and times defined. This is because Flamengo and Atlético-mg will compete for the title of the national tournament on the 3rd and 10th of October, at Maracanã and Arena MRV respectively. For this reason, the clubs agreed on the visitor quota for the two matches.
The clubs reached an agreement to have the same number of visitors at both Maracanã and Arena MRV, that is, 4 thousand visiting fans. This number represents 9% of the Minas Gerais stadium's capacity and 6% of Maracanã's. This agreement did not go down very well with Atleticanos, who on social media have complained that the percentage was disproportionate.
Retrospect of Flamengo is not the best in finals away from home
Flamengo will decide for the fifth time the Copa do Brasil as a visitor, and the record is not good. They only came out on top once, precisely in their first final in the competition, in 1990. Of the other three titles, two had the final at home (2013 and 2022). In 2006, when the dispute was with rival Vasco, the duels were played with an equal division of tickets and considered a neutral field.
See how it went:
Champion at Serra Dourada: In the second edition of the Copa do Brasil, in 1990, Flamengo reached its first final. It passed through Capelense, Taguatinga, Bahia and Náutico. The first game was held in the Minas Gerais municipality of Juiz de Fora, known for being a stronghold of Rio fans, but the audience was quite modest: 2,437 paying fans. Despite the lack of support from the locals, Fla won 1-0 with a header from defender Fernando. In the return game, with a much fuller stadium (45,504 present), Flamengo held on for a 0-0 draw and ensured their presence in the following year's Libertadores.
2003: toughest defeat: The second time they had to decide away from home, Flamengo was unsuccessful. In 2003, he faced Alex's favorite Cruzeiro. They even managed a 1-1 draw in stoppage time at Maracanã, but in Minas Gerais Vanderlei Luxemburgo's team was unbeatable. The miners opened the scoring with Deivid, in the first minute of the game, and, at 28, they were already leading 3-0. Fernando Baiano scored in the second half, but Flamengo never flirted with a draw.
2017, Cruzeiro again: Once again Flamengo and Cruzeiro met in a Copa do Brasil final, but this time not there was a favourite, as had happened in 2003. The problem is that in 2017 Alex Muralha, called up to the Brazilian team a year earlier, was going through a terrible time. In the first game, coach Reinaldo Rueda bet on young Thiago. Flamengo won 1-0, with a goal from Paquetá, scored in the second half. Thiago, who wasn't 100%, released a shot from Hudson, and the now red-black idol Arrascaeta pushed it into the net.
At startup back, Muralha returned to goal, the teams were 0-0, and the title was decided on penalties. Flamengo's goalkeeper, in a repetition of movements that was notable, threw himself to the right in all of Cruzeiro's shots. Diego, the main red and black player, stopped at Fábio, and the miners got the better of it again.
2023: the only runner-up with a defeat at Maraca:The last time they decided away from home, in 2023, the defeat at Maracanã ended up being decisive. At a time when the team and its coach, Jorge Sampaoli, did not speak the same language, Flamengo faced São Paulo as favorites. For the first time, he was defeated at Maraca in the Brazilian Cup final in the first game. Calleri scored the goal. At Morumbi, the red-blacks started better, opening the scoring with Bruno Henrique, but suffered a draw in the first half, after a bomb from Rodrigo Nestor
After leaving the game against Ceará with thigh pain, number 10 undergoes tests at Ninho do Urubu and is cleared to play in the second leg of the round of 16

Flamengo received important news this Monday (4). Midfielder Arrascaeta underwent tests at the club's training center, Ninho do Urubu, which ruled out any muscle injury in the thigh. Thus, the number 10 is fit to reinforce the team in the return match against Atlético-MG , in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
The Uruguayan was substituted at halftime of the match against Ceará last weekend after complaining of muscle discomfort. The decision to withdraw him was made by coach Filipe Luís as a preventative measure , avoiding the worsening of a possible clinical condition.
The player's departure at half-time caused apprehension among fans, who feared the absence of the team's main playmaker in a decisive match. However, tests carried out on Monday ruled out any medical concerns , and Arrascaeta is available to the coaching staff for the match against Atlético-MG, on Wednesday (6).
Internally, the news was received enthusiastically, particularly given the tactical importance the midfielder represents to the team's attacking system . If he's fully fit by game day, Arrascaeta is likely to start.
After a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at Maracanã, Flamengo needs to win by two goals to secure a direct spot in the quarterfinals. If Flamengo wins by one goal, the match will go to penalties . A draw or another defeat in Belo Horizonte will result in Flamengo 's elimination from the competition.
The duel promises a full house on Wednesday (6), after victory in the first leg at Galo; the club publishes prices, sectors and requires facial registration for access to the stadium

Officially presented this Monday with the number 15 shirt, Jorge Carrascal arrived at Flamengo with the mission of strengthening the creative sector, occupying a role in which Arrascaeta has been a reference since 2019. Although he has not yet debuted with the Manto Sagrado, the Colombian midfielder stated that playing for the Rio de Janeiro club represents an important milestone in his professional career.
"The truth is, I came to Flamengo with a purpose: to work, compete, and achieve the best for the club. The short-term goal is to play and earn matches. I'll work hard, focus on the clear objective, and the lineup will depend on the coach," the player declared.
During the interview, Carrascal made a point of praising the club's structure and the Mais Querido's representation in the South American scene. According to him, the decision to wear the red-and-black jersey was made with conviction.
Carrascal talks about the deal with Flamengo: "For me it's a dream"
"As everyone knows, Flamengo is a very big team. A South American team that means a lot. It's a dream for me to play in Brazil, so I believe I made the best decision for my career," added the athlete, who had been playing for Dynamo Moscow before the transfer.
Despite being physically fit and training with the group, Carrascal is still awaiting official registration with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to make his debut. The player's name must be included in the Daily Information Bulletin (BID) to officially play for the team.
