The Mengão Paralympic rowers put on a show last weekend and won the Brazilian Championship title. At Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Rubro-Negro won four out of five contests and lifted the cup.

On the way to the national title, Mais Querido took first place in PR2mix2x, with Michel Pessanha and Gessyca Guerra, on PR3mix2x, with Diana Barcelos and Valdeni Junior, on PR2M1x, again with Michel Pessanha and, finally, on PR3mix4+, with Adeilso Freitas, Salvador Maike, Diana Barcelos, Gessyca Guerra and the helmsman Andre Luis.

< p>Diana Barcelos, who won the silver medal at the World Cup with Valdeni Junior, 'in Varese, Italy, celebrated the result.


“There were two competitions in the space of a week and the feeling is duty fulfilled”, said Diana. “We have been doing daily construction work for at least seven years. The results do not come in vain and are only possible through teamwork, with mistakes and successes, as happens in any group work. I'm sure we're on the right track.”


Next weekend, it's FlaRemo's turn to compete in the Brazilian Short and Long Boat Championship. Again in Lagoa, the red-black teams are looking for the title at home, with finals between Friday (30) and Sunday (01), broadcast live on FlaTV from 9 am.

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores. Follow the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Red-black gymnastics once again shows its strength. This weekend, the Brazilian Adult and Children's Artistic Gymnastics Championship was held at the Claudio Coutinho gymnasium, in Gávea. Mengão won everything in both categories.

In the adult all-around, Isabel Aguilar climbed to the highest place on the podium followed by Hellen Vitória and Julia Coutinho, all from Flamengo. In the apparatus competition, Isabel Aguilar was the best on beam and uneven bars. On floor Julia Coutinho took gold and in vault Larissa Machado came first.


In the children's category, the best athlete in the individual all-around was Ana Paula Delgado.


Olympic medalists Rebeca Andrade , Flavia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa and Lorrane Oliveira will return to compete for Flamengo later this month in the Brazilian Championship of the category that will be held between the 15th and 22nd, in João Pessoa, Paraíba.
