Flamengo is close to success
|
Flamengo is very close to securing the loan signing of midfielder Marcos Antônio, currently playing for Lazio, in Italy. The Rio club is negotiating the final details to conclude the agreement, which includes a mandatory purchase clause worth 4 million euros, if certain targets are reached.
Negotiations between Flamengo and Lazio have advanced significantly in recent days , as reported by the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero and Radiosei. Flamengo's initial proposal foresees that the athlete will come on loan until the end of the season, with the purchase obligation being activated upon the fulfillment of specific goals, which have not yet been publicly detailed.

Marcos Antônio is a 23-year-old midfielder, revealed by Athletico Paranaense, who transferred to Shakhtar Donetsk, from Ukraine, in 2019. At the Ukrainian club, he stood out for his ability with the ball in feet, vision of the game and precise passes, which caught the attention of Lazio, who signed him in 2022.
However, his time at the Italian club has not been as brilliant as expected. The player had difficulties establishing himself as a starter and finding his best football in the Italian Serie A. With few opportunities and strong competition in the squad, leaving on loan appears as an interesting solution for both the player and Lazio, who seek to give the athlete more experience.

Léo Ortiz's transition from defender to midfielder shows his ability to adapt
|
In an interview with the Trivela portal, Léo Ortiz, defender of Flamengo and son of former player Ortiz, opened up about a different experience on the field: playing as a midfielder. In a recent interview, the athlete told how this position is not completely foreign to him, as his first lessons in football were precisely in this role, during the time he played futsal.
"I think it was the first thing I learned in field, coming from futsal, it was this position as a midfielder. So that made me remember some things I learned back in my time at the base, playing in that position," said Léo Ortiz.
THE IMPROVISATION THAT WORKED
The player highlighted that the experience at futsal was fundamental to his technical and tactical development. Futsal, known for being a sport that requires quick thinking and skill with the ball at your feet, helped Léo improve his game. He mentioned that this futsal base made it easier to adapt when he needed to act as a midfielder, a position that requires good reading of the game and constant movement.
In addition, Léo Ortiz explained how he can take advantage of his defender skills when acting as steering wheel. "I can bring the defender part of the positioning, like covering the other midfielder and also building a little closer to the goalkeeper." This versatility is an asset to the player and his team, allowing him to play different roles depending on the team's needs.
Mengão wins again in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship

A crucial victory for Garotos do Ninho in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. After two negative results, Flamengo beat Bahia 2-0, this Tuesday, at the Reitor Edgard Santos stadium (BA). The goals of the match were scored by Nigerian striker Shola.
With this result, the team led by coach Filipe Luís moved up the leaderboard and remained in the group of eight clubs that advance to the next stage. Mais Querido's next commitment will be against Athletico-PR, next Wednesday (10), at 3pm, in Gávea.
Needing to get back to scoring points in the championship, Mengão was focused from the start. With good plays on the sides of the field, the team opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a great run from Shola, who finished with precision.
Reinforced by athletes who were suspended, such as Iago and Jean Carlos, and others who served the professional team, such as goalkeeper Dyogo Alves and Rayan Lucas, the team maintained the pace and, ten minutes later, increased the score. After a deep ball from Felipe Teresa, Shola advanced quickly and scored his second goal of the match.
Flamengo returns to the field next Wednesday (10), where they will face Athletico-PR in Gávea, seeking to maintain their good form and guarantee their classification for the next phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship.
