0The 2024 Copa do Brasil is approaching its most exciting phase, with the semifinals defined last Thursday (12). Corinthians, Vasco, Flamengo and Atlético-MG remain alive in the competition, promising fierce duels towards the decision.
Among the semi-finalists, Mengão stands out as the only Brazilian club still competing on three fronts: Copa do Brasil , Libertadores and Brazilian Championship. The Rio team secured their place in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil with two victories over Bahia, winning both games 1-0, both at Fonte Nova and Maracanã.
DRAMATIC CLASSIFICATION OF CORINTHIANS
Corinthians secured their place in the semi-finals in an exciting way. After losing to Juventude 2-1 in Rio Grande do Sul, Timão achieved a hard-fought 3-1 victory in the return game. Defender André Ramalho scored the decisive goal in the 52nd minute of the second half, taking the São Paulo team to the next stage.
Atlético-MG faced São Paulo in a duel of giants. With a 1-0 victory in the first leg at Morumbi, Galo held on to a goalless draw at home, at Mineirão, guaranteeing qualification for the semi-finals.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

0Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

0This Wednesday (17), the CBF announced the day that will be the draw for the field hosts for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The event that will take place at the entity's headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, will start at 2 pm, next Friday (20).
Still without the field command defined, the semi-final games of the Copa do Brasil are: Flamengo x Corinthians and Atlético-MG x Vasco. Remembering that the dates of the round-trip clashes are October 2nd and 17th.
It is worth remembering that Mais Querido defeated Bahia to qualify for the semi-finals, just as Corinthians got past Juventude. Vasco eliminated Athletico-PR and Atlético-MG beat São Paulo.
Before Flamengo worries about the semifinals of Copa do Brasil, Mais Querido will have another decision ahead. This is because, Rubro-Negro faces Peñarol this Thursday (19th) and on September 26th, in games valid for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores.
In this way, the red-black squad closes this Wednesday Monday (18) preparation for the clash against Peñarol. The game will be the first leg, at Maracanã, at 7pm, this Thursday (19). The match will be broadcast live throughout Brazil on ESPN.
