Flamengo was taken by surprise this Thursday with a formal but previously unannounced visit by professionals from a company outsourced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The group went to Ninho do Urubu with the mission of applying anti-doping tests to players from the main squad.
The arrival took place in the early afternoon, and the club's technical committee and medical department were quickly called to collaborate with the procedures, which are part of the regular control actions of the CBF in partnership with the ABCD (Brazilian Doping Control Authority).
The action is not directly related to any suspicion or complaint. It is a routine and unannounced collection, as provided for in the anti-doping control rules of the CBF and international bodies such as FIFA and WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). In total, five athletes from the professional squad were selected to undergo the tests. Their names have not been disclosed for now, since the process is confidential, as established in the regulations.
The procedure involves collecting urine and, occasionally, blood, depending on the protocol adopted at the time. The samples are sent for analysis to laboratories accredited by WADA, which issue reports within an average period of 10 to 15 days. The visit by the control agents was brief, but it caused a stir at the CT, as it is not common for this to occur outside of periods close to competitions organized directly by the CBF, such as the Copa do Brasil and the Brasileirão.
Even so, Flamengo collaborated fully with the operation. The athletes were temporarily removed from their scheduled activities for the day to comply with the testing protocol. It is worth remembering that anti-doping tests can occur at any time during the season and in any location, including at home or in training camps. For this reason, the clubs keep their medical departments up to date with the rules and requirements of the regulatory bodies.

One of the great merits of Filipe Luís's work at Flamengo's helm is its defensive solidity . Under his leadership, the team has not been defeated this season, and Rossi is largely responsible for this. The Argentine goalkeeper is having a consistent year , with decisive performances and an impressive streak of clean sheets.
According to a survey released by the club this Tuesday (7), Rossi reached seven consecutive games without conceding goals in 2025 and established himself as the athlete with the most matches in the season, totaling 51 appearances so far.
The term "clean sheet" originated in the Premier League and is used to define when a goalkeeper finishes a match without conceding a goal , and Rossi has already achieved this feat in 29 of his 51 matches this year for the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved). The only performance in which the number 1 conceded more goals was against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup in June. On that occasion, Flamengo lost 4-2 in the round of 16 of the competition.
With Rossi on a high and a mainstay in the squad, Flamengo returns to the field on October 15th to face Botafogo at 7:30 pm (Brasília time) at Nilton Santos Stadium for the 28th round of the Brasileirão. The match will be broadcast on Premiere (pay-per-view), Record TV (open channel) and Cazé TV (YouTube).
