The Boys from the Nest have an important commitment this Wednesday afternoon (03). Flamengo debuts in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship against Atlético-GO, at 3:30 pm, at the Antônio Accioly stadium, in Goiânia. After winning the second consecutive title in the Copa Rio U-17, the team is looking for the third title in the national competition under new technical command.

Eduardo Zuma, who was in the U-16, was promoted to the U-17 after the transfer of Filipe Luís to the Under-20s. Zuma has already commanded the category in the 2023 Recopa, against Fluminense. Since then, there have been ten days of intense training at CT George Helal, Ninho do Urubu, preparing the team for their debut in the national championship.

“We watched Atlético-GO a lot to identify how they play. We prepared two weeks for the game and I believe the team is confident after the success they had in the Copa Rio. It's always a pleasure to be in the U17. I think returning to a category that competes in national championships is a good opportunity for us to make our debut on the right foot, playing a great game at the beginning of the Brazilian Championship”, said new coach Eduardo Zuma.
