It's finally here! Flamengo finally took to the field on Monday night for their debut in the FIFA Club World Cup . With the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia packed with red-and-black fans, the team led by Filipe Luís began their journey in the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Espérance from Tunisia, and tied with Chelsea, the team's next opponent with 3 points.
The first 45 minutes were dominated by Flamengo. The technical difference between the teams translated into an imposition by the red-and-black team, which did not need a very fast pace to score. In the 16th minute, Luiz Araújo gave a great pass to Arrascaeta after a cross from Varela, and the Uruguayan finished first to open the scoring.
Soon after, Gerson had the chance to extend the lead with a rebound inside the box, in the 18th minute. With the partial victory, Flamengo reduced the intensity after 30 minutes , but Rossi was a mere spectator in the first half. Espérance showed great difficulty in connecting plays in the attacking field and practically did not threaten.
In the second half, Fla entered differently, with lower intensity and this made the Tunisian club enjoy the game more , but nothing that caused any problems for the defense or goalkeeper Rossi. Gonzalo Plata also ended up returning to Filipe Luís' options , after more than a month injured. Even playing a second half well below par, making mistakes in passes, Fla scored the second goal with Luís Araújo and left with the victory at Lincoln Financial Park, that is, they did what was expected.
With the victory, Flamengo is in first place in group D, with the same 3 points as Chelsea , but in the card criteria, the red-black team has the advantage. In this sense, the English team itself is the next opponent of Filipe Luís' team. The match will take place next Friday, at 3 pm, again at Lincoln Financial Field.
The top scorer scored twice in the first few minutes, Plata extended the lead in the second half and the Colorado team was unable to react in front of their fans at Beira Rio.

Flamengo secured a solid victory and remained top of the Brazilian Championship in the 20th round. Filipe Luís's team won 3-1, with goals from Pedro (twice) and Plata for Mengão, and Borré's goal for the Colorados.
Within the first minute, Vitinho received a yellow card and was suspended for Colorado's next match. The play seemed to portend trouble for the home team, which soon proved to be the case. The punishment came in the 16th minute, when Saúl won the ball back from the Colorado attack and passed it to Plata. The striker finished with style to make it 3-0, silencing part of the stadium. From then on, the Gauchos tried to push back, but their lack of precision kept the score intact. The Mais Querido almost scored the fourth through Ayrton Lucas, but Anthoni was denied.
The match gradually cooled down in Porto Alegre. Inter looked for space, but found the red-and-black defense alert and well-positioned. Substitutions were made on both sides, and when the team from Rio Grande do Sul brought on some starters, they managed to break the deadlock with Borré in the 47th minute of the second half.
Flamengo now returns to the field again against Internacional, however, this time, for the Copa Libertadores da América, next Wednesday (20). It is worth remembering that the Rio de Janeiro team achieved a 1-0 victory, in the game held at Maracanã.
Despite being suggested to Mais Querido in this window, the midfielder still has a distant future at the Rio de Janeiro club, which prioritizes other positions in the market.

Midfielder Arthur, currently without a place at Juventus, was offered to Flamengo this transfer window. The player, who is close to returning to Grêmio , was analyzed by the Flamengo board, but without progress.

Lucas Paquetá, a Flamengo talent who currently plays for West Ham, has been linked to a major transfer controversy this summer.
