The seventh round of the Brasileirão came to an end last Sunday night (2) and the championship already has a new leader: Flamengo. However, for Mais Querido remaining in the lead until the next round had to dry out opponents Athletico-PR and Bahia.

The Brazilian Championship had its first complete round after being paralyzed due to the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. The matches started on Saturday (1). Atlético-GO went to Barradão, in Salvador, and defeated Vitória 2-0. Bragantino faced Grêmio at Couto Pereira, in Curitiba, and won 2-0.

Fluminense and Juventude were only tied 1-1. Finally, Internacional beat last placed team Cuiabá 1-0. Closing Saturday's round (1), Botafogo went to São Paulo and won the three points against Corinthians .

SEQUENCE OF THE ROUND

Following the round this Sunday (2), three games were played at 4pm. This is because Mais Queridobeat Vasco 6-1 at Maracanã, scoring the biggest defeat in the history of the classic. Furthermore, Bahia drew 1-1 with Atlético-MG, and now occupies second place. Finally, Palmeiras went to Santa Catarina and beat Criciúma 2-1.

Closing the round, Flamengo needed to beat Athletico-PR, as the Paraná team started the journey in the lead. Thus, the team from Paraná was defeated by Fortaleza, in Ceará, 2-0. Finally, São Paulo beat Cruzeiro 2-0.

The first women's volleyball competition is Mengão's! This Friday (27), Flamengo won the National Cup of Pro-Vôlei Clubs. Against the current Superliga champion, Bernardinho's team played 3 sets to 0 at Minas, with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17. The duel took place at Ginásio Wilson Mânica, in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul.

The tournament featured three clubs and serves as preparation for the 2024/25 Superliga. On Wednesday (25), Flamengo beat Maringá. On Thursday (26), Minas also beat the team from Paraná. Therefore, this Friday (27th) the big decision took place, which had a packed gym.


Victory to respect

Despite being a competition to open the season, Flamengo's victory gives a boost to the season. After all, Minas is the team to beat in Brazilian women's volleyball. Thus, in the last five Superligas, the Belo Horizonte team won four titles and one runner-up. In the squad, there are athletes who have played for the Brazilian team, such as Thaísa, Olympic champion and bronze medalist in this year's edition, in Paris.

Superliga

The dates of the Women's Super League have not yet been announced. However, there is an expectation that the competition will start in October. In total, 12 teams will play the tournament, in a round-robin system, with the eight best qualifying for the quarter-finals.

In the last edition, after all, Flamengo was eliminated by Praia Clube in the semi-final . Therefore, the goal for 2024/25 is to reach the decision and repeat the title won in 2000/01, when Rubro-Negro beat Vasco, in a historic decision at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

FIFA will announce the venues for the 2025 Super Club World Cup this Saturday (28). The announcement will be made during the Global Citizen Festival. The event will be held in Central Park, New York. FIFA did not detail how many cities and stadiums will host the 2025 edition. This will be the first time that the tournament will feature 32 teams.

The Super World Cup will be held between June 15 and July 13, 2025 The competition already has 30 qualified teams, with three Brazilians among them: Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. Brazil may have one more representative. This is because Atlético-MG and Botafogo are fighting for the last South American place in the competition — the Libertadores title gives them the place. Peñarol [if they win the Libertadores] and Olímpia [if River wins the Libertadores] are the other teams in the running.


What will the Super Mundial be like?

< The competition organized by FIFA will be played for the first time with 32 teams next year. The United States will host the first edition of the tournament in this format. The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups with four teams each, with them facing each other in a single round. The top two in each group will advance to the round of 16. The knockout stage will be played in a single game.

The places are divided into: 12 for Europe, six for South America, four for Asia, Africa and North, Central America and the Caribbean, one for Oceania and one for the host country.

In addition to the remaining MLS spot, which has not yet defined its representative, the other available entry belongs to South America. It is destined for the champion of the edition of 2024 of the Libertadores. If River Plate wins the title, it will be transferred to the Conmebol ranking in FIFA and would already have an owner: Olímpia-PAR.

The Flamengo prepared to face Palmeiras on Sunday (11), at Maracanã. Before entering the field, Rubro-Negro lost a position in the Brasileirão table, to Fortaleza. The northeastern team did its homework and beat Criciúma this Saturday (10), 1-0.

Under the command of Argentine coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, Fortaleza had a saving goal from Moisés in the second minute of the second half. Therefore, the Fortaleza team defeated Criciúma at Arena Castelão, in a game that opened the 22nd round of the Brasileirão.


Fortaleza now has eight rounds of unbeaten record in the Brasileirão, with seven wins and one draw. In this way, the Ceará team reached 42 points, surpassing Flamengo's 40, which fell from second to third place in the competition. Botafogo leads with 43.
