Flamengo shouldn't have an easy time signing Juninho next to Qarabag (AZE). Despite having already agreed everything with the striker, the red-and-black needs to convince the Azerbaijani team to negotiate the player. Initially, Mengão sent a proposal of 4 million euros (25 million reais), but after a negative response, Fla prepared a new offer.
According to information from the 'UOL' portal, Qarabag began negotiations asking for 6 million euros (R$ 38 million, approximately). With this, Flamengo hopes to be able to complete the signing in the next few hours in the famous 'middle ground'. Therefore, the tendency is for Mais Querido to send an offer of 5 million (around R$31, 5 million) for the attacker.
Striker agreed to come to Brazil
It is worth mentioning that everything has already been agreed between Flamengo and Juninho. In addition to the player having already agreed to the financial proposal sent by Fla, there is a verbal agreement for a contract valid for three seasons (until December 2027). It is important to remember that the athlete is 28 years old and would arrive to replace Gabigol, who left Mengão to reinforce Cruzeiro.
Qarabag did not list juninho

Before moving forward with hiring Juninho, Flamengo had defined the amount to invest in hiring the new attacker. Thus, Mais Querido plans to invest 5 to 6 million euros, that is, a little less than R$40 million, in Gabigol's replacement. Therefore, the price asked for by Qarabag fits into Rubro-Negro's budget.
Mengão was eliminated from the Copa do Brasil by Atlético-MG in penalty kicks and is relegated again due to a lack of efficiency at the penalty spot.

The result tied the match on aggregate, but the elimination came in the penalty shootout, once again unfavorable to Flamengo - something that has been repeated frequently in recent years.
Since the historic 2019 season, the club has played ten penalty shootouts, accumulating six losses and only four wins. The last time Flamengo prevailed was in the 2022 Copa do Brasil final , when they defeated Corinthians at the Maracanã stadium under Dorival Júnior.
Outside of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo now turns its attention to its two main objectives of the year: the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores . One of the penalty takers who wasted his chance was young Wallace Yan , who received public support from Matheus Gonçalves right after the game.
In a post on Instagram stories, Matheus, who also graduated from Ninho do Urubu, left a message of encouragement to his teammate: " We're together. Keep your heads up. We need you ," declared the number 20.

Michael's continued presence at Flamengo is increasingly uncertain. The 29-year-old striker, who has been underutilized by coach Filipe Luís, may be close to leaving the club.
