The Flamengo, one of the most iconic clubs in Brazil, is about to begin a new phase in its history, this time on the European stage. The Rio club recently announced plans to acquire Leixões, a traditional Portuguese team, in a process that will be divided into three phases. The first of these, which is already underway, involves the purchase of more than 50% of the Portuguese club's shares, making Flamengo the majority shareholder of Sociedade Anônima Desportiva (SAD) of Leixões.
Next Monday On Friday, the 29th, an information session will be held at Estádio do Mar, home of Leixões, for club members. The objective is to present the details of the acquisition and future plans, ensuring transparency and involvement of the local community. Flamengo's board of directors promises to bring financial stability to Leixões, in addition to ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Portuguese League and increasing investments in reinforcements for the team.
A NEW CLUB IN FLAMENGO'S SIGHTS
The project Flamengo in Portugal is not only an expansion strategy, but also a bold bet on the growth and development of Leixões. The club plans to reach the Portuguese Primeira Liga in the next two seasons – currently, Leixões competes in the second division. Furthermore, the goal is to compete in European competitions within a maximum period of five years. This ambitious schedule demonstrates Flamengo's confidence in its sports management and development capabilities.
One of the main attractions of this acquisition is the promise of financial stability for Leixões. Flamengo, with its experience and robust financial structure, seeks to ensure that the Portuguese club not only meets the League's requirements, but is also able to compete in high level. This investment is seen as a fundamental step towards revitalizing Leixões, providing the necessary resources to hire new talent and improve the club's infrastructure.

After tests confirmed the consolidation of a fracture in his right foot, the Chilean is released for field work and begins the final phase of recovery with a view to returning

Midfielder Erick Pulgar took an important step towards returning to play for Flamengo . Tests carried out this Friday (12) showed the consolidation of the fracture in the fifth metatarsal of the right foot , allowing the player to be released to begin activities on the pitch.
With medical clearance, Pulgar now begins the transition to field work . The Chilean will continue physical therapy to resume running, progress to ball-handling activities, and then enter the physical conditioning phase, the final phase before returning to official matches.
The midfielder hasn't played since the Club World Cup in June. After surgery on July 3, Pulgar spent some time in Chile and then returned to Ninho do Urubu to continue his treatment. Until then, he had been working out in the training center's indoor area.
The injury occurred during the Club World Cup Round of 16 match against Bayern Munich. The midfielder had already suffered the same type of fracture in his first months at the club, when it took him about 60 days to return to the squad.
Although coach Filipe Luís stated that he was counting on the Chilean for the Libertadores quarterfinals, it is unlikely that he will be on the field for the matches against Estudiantes , scheduled for September 18 and 25. Pulgar is expected to be available later in the season, reinforcing Flamengo's role in the ongoing competitions.
