FLAMENGO LOSES TO SÃO PAULO IN THE QUARTER-FINALS OF THE U-20 BRASILEIRÃO

This Thursday (4), Meninas da Gávea faced São Paulo in Santana de Parnaíba, in the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão U20, and were defeated 1-0. The return game will be held on the day July 18th, in Gávea, at 3pm.

THE GAME

Right at the start of the match, Letícia he had a dangerous chance with a free kick, almost opening the score for Flamengo. The girls continued attacking and, in the 18th minute, Letícia dribbled past the opposing defender on the baseline, but shot wide.

Afterwards, Mariana, Anna Luiza and Duda Rodrigues did a good triangulation, resulting in a shot by Duda that skimmed the crossbar. In the 29th minute, São Paulo opened the scoring with Milena. Flamengo tried to respond in the 32nd minute, when Barraca crossed and Gica headed wide. The pressure continued with Duda Rodrigues making an individual play, but his shot went wide, and the first half ended 1-0 for São Paulo.

SECOND HALF

After the break, with the need to get the result, Flamengo kept the pressure on. Kethilyn crossed for Núbia, who headed close to the post. In the 14th minute, Duda Rodrigues kicked hard and hit the crossbar. Even with the match cooling off, Meninas da Gávea continued to try for a draw. Mariana finished from outside the area, but the opposing goalkeeper saved it. In the 45th minute, Mariana made a good move, but the ball ended up in the opponent's hand.
