This Thursday (10), Flamengo officially implemented the working groups that will be responsible for the process of modernizing the club's Statute. A meeting in Gávea marked the beginning of the mission to study and propose updates to the document, such as the introduction of remote voting in board meetings and club elections.
According to a statement from the club, 58 of the 64 invited board members attended the meeting. Participation was possible both in person and online. Ricardo Lomba, president of the Deliberative Council and responsible for announcing the working groups, highlighted the importance of modernizing the Statute.
We made it clear that we would work for a more modern Flamengo
“The creation of the working groups represents a fundamental step in the process of modernizing and improving our Statute. More than an administrative initiative, it is the fulfillment of a commitment made during the campaigns for the Deliberative Council and the Board of Directors.
" From the beginning, we made it clear that we would work for a more modern, transparent and democratic Flamengo . We were careful to compose these groups with members from different political parties within the club, ensuring a plural, in-depth and constructive approach to the topics under discussion. This collective construction is essential for the new Statute to reflect the values, needs and ambitions of our Red-Black Nation.”
The appointed councilors will have a deadline to present a draft with proposals. The implementation of remote voting is considered one of the most important changes.
One of the club's understandings is the need to increase member participation in the presidential elections. In the election won by current president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, 3,200 people went to Gávea in the election with the most voters since 1992. But this count represents only 58% of the 5,587 red-and-blacks who were eligible to vote. Removing the obligation to vote in person aims to increase this share of participation.

Officially unveiled this Monday wearing the number 15 jersey, Jorge Carrascal arrived at the club with high expectations. Coming from Dynamo Moscow, the Colombian was considered a potential replacement for Arrascaeta , but he refuted the idea of a rivalry with the Uruguayan, a regular starter since 2019. In his first interview, Carrascal emphasized the importance of teamwork.
" It's not about competition, that I will be his replacement , that I will not be his replacement. I came to Flamengo with the purpose of working, of competing, of trying to achieve the best for the club, the clear objectives that it has in the short term this season," the player declared.
Besides rejecting any kind of competition for position, Carrascal praised his teammate's quality. " Arrascaeta has a unique game. He's a great player. We've known Arrascaeta for many years, based on his abilities. He's a different player," he stated.
Carrascal wants to show his versatility at Flamengo: "Position is not a problem"
Demonstrating commitment, the midfielder also highlighted his tactical versatility, showing a willingness to play in different areas of the field, depending on the coach's needs. " I really enjoy moving around the field , I try to make whatever the coach asks of me work. In the middle, on the outside, as a number eight. Position isn't a problem. I'll try to do my best," he added.
Carrascal hasn't played an official match since May 24th, when he left the Russian club. However, the athlete stated that he maintained his physical preparation during the vacation period. Flamengo 's staff also expresses confidence in his athletic condition, which should accelerate his integration into the main squad in upcoming matches.

Expecting a large crowd at Maracanã, Flamengo is banking on the strength of the nation to remain firmly in the fight for the top spots in the Brasileirão. Mengão leads the championship with 37 points.
Even with Mengão's desire to repatriate the midfielder, the player is showing signs that he intends to stay in Europe, while West Ham is stipulating a millionaire value.

To cap off a busy transfer window led by José Boto, Flamengo is still dreaming of the return of Lucas Paquetá. A product of the club's youth academy, the player has a strong connection with the club, which is seeking to emotionally connect him with a potential return to Rio de Janeiro.
However, the path to this goal isn't straightforward. Lucas Paquetá remains highly valued in European football, and his name was recently linked with a potential trade deal involving Jack Grealish , which would see the Brazilian join Pep Guardiola's Manchester City squad. The deal, while uncertain, demonstrates how highly regarded the player remains on the Old Continent.
On Monday (4), new information emerged about Paquetá's position . According to international media outlets, the player, recently cleared of charges of involvement in sports betting manipulation, is determined to prioritize staying in Europe.
Lucas Paquetá is currently linked to West Ham , where he plays regularly. Despite interest from several clubs around the world, the English team is cautious and is only willing to sell him if a minimum offer of €60 million is reached, which is equivalent to approximately R$382.1 million at the current exchange rate.
The athlete's stance represents a disappointment for Flamengo 's plans, which saw Paquetá as the perfect signing to round out the squad led by Filipe Luís. Despite this, the Rio de Janeiro club continues to monitor the situation and maintains hopes , albeit remote, of facilitating the 27-year-old's return to Brazilian football.
