0The Flamengo squad has faced a series of injuries that directly compromise the team's performance. Coach Tite has been looking for solutions behind the scenes to avoid a drop in performance, but the absence of important players continues to be a challenge for Rubro-Negro.
In addition to injuries, Flamengocould face another significant loss. Gerson, one of the main players in the squad and who has accumulated the highest minutes this season, could be missing from the team in a decisive clash for the Copa do Brasil.
The CBF released the schedule for Brazil's next games in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, which coincide with important commitments of the Rio club.
The Brazilian team faces Chile in the on October 10th, in Santiago, and Peru on October 15th, in Brasília. In the same period, Mengão will have a crucial match against Corinthians, in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil, scheduled for October 17th.
The possibility of Gerson being left out of the match against Corinthians worries the coaching staff and the fans. The player has been a key player in the team's evolution and his absence at such an important moment could be a problem for Tite, who will need to look for alternatives to maintain the team's performance.
The teams play the first game of the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.

0Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
The Rubro-negra lineup follows:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Flamengo faces Corinthians in the next phase of the competition

0This Wednesday (17), the CBF announced the day that will be the draw for the field hosts for the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The event that will take place at the entity's headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, will start at 2 pm, next Friday (20).
Still without the field command defined, the semi-final games of the Copa do Brasil are: Flamengo x Corinthians and Atlético-MG x Vasco. Remembering that the dates of the round-trip clashes are October 2nd and 17th.
It is worth remembering that Mais Querido defeated Bahia to qualify for the semi-finals, just as Corinthians got past Juventude. Vasco eliminated Athletico-PR and Atlético-MG beat São Paulo.
Before Flamengo worries about the semifinals of Copa do Brasil, Mais Querido will have another decision ahead. This is because, Rubro-Negro faces Peñarol this Thursday (19th) and on September 26th, in games valid for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores.
In this way, the red-black squad closes this Wednesday Monday (18) preparation for the clash against Peñarol. The game will be the first leg, at Maracanã, at 7pm, this Thursday (19). The match will be broadcast live throughout Brazil on ESPN.
