This Monday (11), the 2024 Copa do Brasil Champion issued a note of repudiation of the deplorable episodes that took place last Sunday (10 ), at Arena MRV, Atlético-MG stadium. Rubro-Negro asks the authorities to take urgent action and recalled some events.
Follow the note in full:< /b>
"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo goes public, after the regrettable scenes of savagery that occurred yesterday, 10.11.2024, inside and outside the facilities of the Clube Atlético Mineiro arena, to express its absolute repudiation in the face of the attacks suffered by fans, professionals involved in the show, players and coaching staff of this club

Unfortunately, the war scenario seen yesterday is not new in games held in Belo Horizonte, against the Atlético Mineiro team. The rivalry between the teams, which should be restricted to the sporting environment, in a healthy way, went beyond the reasonable barrier, so that the authorities (Public Ministry, Public Security Bodies, Superior Court of Sports Justice, Brazilian Football Confederation, among others) need and must take urgent measures.
The entire country was witness to the various and serious violence committed yesterday by Atlético Mineiro fans. The episodes of violence that occurred on Sunday cannot be ignored or simply forgotten. They need to be treated with the importance and attention they deserve.
The managers of Arena MRV, together with the board of directors of Clube Atlético Mineiro, had a legal obligation to organize the event and ensure the safety of those present and they failed to do so. The inspection and search of people was completely flawed, allowing the entry of bombs and other devices, which caused damage and injuries to people.
Even though the press has already listed the absurdities that happened yesterday, Flamengo understands that it is extremely important to remember some of these events:
1. When Flamengo fans entered the stadium there was widespread confusion, as the turnstile system in the visiting sector did not allow fans to enter. The Minas Gerais Police acted brutally, throwing pepper gas at fans, including elderly people, women and children.
2. Bars for Flamengo fans stopped selling drinks and soft drinks during the first half of the game, and in addition to the intense heat, Flamengo fans did not even have access to drinking water to clean their faces due to the constant use of gas. pepper and also for hydration.
3. The box intended for Flamengo's directors and technical committee did not have the necessary security for an event of this magnitude. Several Atlético Mineiro fans offended and threatened the managers, Flamengo professionals and their respective families, on the way to and from the boxes.
4. Numerous bombs were thrown onto the field, one of them exploded very close to the Flamengo goalkeeper (Rossi), another almost hit the player Plata, during the goal celebration and a third, unfortunately, hit a reporter who was working on the game (Nurenberg José Maria), who did not even have the help of a stretcher on the field, having to walk with broken fingers and a torn tendon, and even undergoing surgery, as widely reported by the media.
5. Throughout the match, glasses and other objects were thrown at Flamengo players, on the field and on the bench, without Arena security intervening to contain these throws.
6. Field invasion by Atlético Mineiro fans, with the aim of physically attacking players and members of Flamengo's technical committee.
7. During the entire celebration and the awards ceremony, those responsible for Arena MRV, in a deliberate and unsportsmanlike manner, turned on the stadium's sound system at the highest volume to play repeatedly, for almost an hour, the Clube Atlético Mineiro anthem, in an attitude that is disrespectful and contrary to Fair Play.
8. There were acts of racism and misogyny committed by Atlético Mineiro fans against Flamengo fans and professional women in the press.
9. Also noteworthy are several reports of ambushes by Atlético Mineiro fans on Flamengo fans' buses, as well as complaints from journalists about working conditions at the stadium.
Thus, considering the facts narrated above, as well as the clear lack of security inside and outside the MRV Arena, we hope that the Sports Justice, together with the CBF, takes a firm position to that all those responsible for the acts of vandalism, aggression and savagery that tarnished the image of one of the biggest competitions in Brazilian football be punished."

Flamengo has already begun planning for next season and confirmed that Matheus Cunha, Pablo, and Cleiton will not have their contracts renewed . All three will leave the club at the end of their contracts. Other names are also on the list of possible departures. Everton Cebolinha, Michael, and Juninho are considered negotiable. The number 11, for example, is attracting interest from Grêmio for 2026.
Another case in question is defensive midfielder Allan. Coach Filipe Luís has prioritized other midfield options, and the player is open to a potential return to Atlético-MG , where he could re-team with Jorge Sampaoli. This information was released by journalist Guilherme Frossard, who covers the Galo news team.
With the transfer window in Brazil closed, any transfer activity will only be possible starting in January . Atlético-MG is closely monitoring the situation and is expected to consider a move. In 2023, Flamengo spent approximately R$43 million to sign Allan from Galo, at the request of Sampaoli, then the club's coach.
At the Rio de Janeiro club, however, Allan didn't replicate his performance in Belo Horizonte. Today, the defensive midfielder occupies a secondary position in Filipe Luís's squad . In the last round of the Brasileirão, Betano faced Grêmio, he sat on the bench for the entire match.
Even with the full focus on winning the Copa Libertadores and the Brasileirão, the board is already working toward 2026. The goal is to reduce the payroll by selling reserves and making room for a major signing in January , under the command of José Boto. Another unresolved issue is the retention of coach Filipe Luís. His current contract expires in December, and the club's first offer was rejected. Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
Former Flamengo and Monaco player, the full-back returns to Brazilian football with Remo after a serious injury and a year out, ensuring he is physically fit.

Full-back Jorge, the new signing for Remo under executive director Marcos Braz , is experiencing a comeback in football. Discovered by Flamengo, he achieved national and international prominence, playing for clubs such as Palmeiras, Santos, Fluminense, and even in Europe , playing for Monaco, Porto, and Basel.
In France, with Monaco, Jorge won a French Championship title. Returning to Brazil in 2023, he signed with Fluminense, but suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee , which sidelined him for a long period. He later played for CRB, but played few games, with his last official match taking place on September 15, 2024.
At the press conference held last week, Jorge stated that he was physically recovered and available to coach António Oliveira: “ I am feeling very well physically , clinically too, that is the most important thing, after a very serious injury that I had at Fluminense… Today I feel good.”
Jorge, ex-Flamengo, reveals the reason for his career break: "I wanted to breathe a little"
Jorge revealed that he chose to take some time away from football to reflect and distance himself from stressful environments: “ When I arrived in Rio, after this contract I had at CRB , I decided that I wanted to breathe a little, get away from some environments through football, because I really went through a lot of things that only God knows.”
With extensive national and international experience, Jorge was also called up to the Brazilian national team in 2017 , playing a friendly against Colombia at Botafogo's Nilton Santos Stadium. The full-back arrives at Remo determined to regain his rhythm and contribute to the team.
Mengão won at Alfredo Jaconi for the first time in 28 years and Thiago Carpini doesn't hide the difference between the teams

Juventude could not resist the leader of the Brasileirão and was beaten 2-0 by Flamengo , last Sunday (14), at Alfredo Jaconi. After the match, coach Thiago Carpini highlighted the difference in level between the teams and praised the performance of Rubro-Negro .
Thiago Carpini after Flamengo's victory over Juventude: "The disparity is huge"
"Today we faced a Flamengo team that needs no comment. The disparity is huge, a team accustomed to shooting a lot and being imposing. We managed to limit their shots a bit, which shows that some of the combinations worked well ," said Carpini.
The coach also explained why he chose Nenê and Alan Ruschel as starters. According to him, the idea was to prioritize possession and exploit set pieces , but the plan didn't pan out, largely due to Flamengo 's own style of play.
"It was more of a coincidence than a strategy, playing at home. Nenê gives us support and rhythm, as well as the set pieces. Alan played well, as did Hermes . We have a group, and we'll choose the best options based on our daily routine," added the Juventude coach.
With the victory, Flamengo reached 50 points and maintained its four-point lead over Palmeiras at the top . Juventude remains in 18th place with 21 points, within the relegation zone. In the next round, Flamengo faces Vasco, while Juventude visits Mirassol in São Paulo.
