Flamengo is determined to reinforce its squad and guarantee titles in the 2024 season. After a disappointing 2023, the red and black board is willing to invest heavily to attract important names and compete in next year's tournaments.
p>Recently, Flamengo sent a proposal of 15 million euros to Zenit, from Russia, to acquire Claudinho . At the same time, the Rio club is preparing a purchase offer from West Ham to bring back Lucas Paquetá. The board heard from the English club that the definitive acquisition is the only form of negotiation, and has already informed Paquetá about the intention to put a formal proposal on the table, as reported by the portal O Globo.
The move to hire Paquetá is not related to the possible purchase of Claudinho. Flamengo had already informed Paquetá's staff that they would make both moves in this transfer window. In this way, the club is committed to strengthening its squad with two important signings.
Flamengo has practically everything agreed with Paquetá, but the formalization of the contract depends on West Ham's approval. Flamengo's proposal includes a clause that protects the club from a possible punishment for Paquetá, who is under investigation at England for alleged involvement in betting.
