No rest after the classic. One day after drawing 0-0 with Botafogo, in the Brazilian Championship, the Flamengo squad returned this Monday (19), at Ninho do Urubu. The focus now is totally on the return match against Botafogo-PB, in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.
The team led by Filipe Luís began training at 9:30 am (Brasília time) and will have only two training sessions before the final at Maracanã, scheduled for Wednesday (21), at 9:30 pm. In the first leg, in Maranhão, Rubro-Negro won 1-0 with a goal by young Joshua. The second and final training session before the match is scheduled for Tuesday (20), at 3:30 pm. The team is expected to use full strength, unlike the first match, when Filipe opted for an alternative team.
The coaching staff's plan includes a new training session on Thursday, also without a day off. The afternoon session is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, training sessions will be in the morning, at 9:30 a.m. The marathon of games has taken a physical toll on the team, and the recovery of injured players is considered a key part of the week's planning. In the goalless draw between Flamengo and Cruzeiro , last Thursday (02), striker Gabigol experienced a special reunion with the red-black fans at Maracanã . Even with few minutes on the field, the former Fla player relived memorable moments of his time at the club.
