0In its debut game in the Guanabara Under-17 Cup, Flamengo thrashed Portuguesa, this Sunday, at Ilha do Governador by the score of 8 to 1. Luan Andrey (2), Menegatti, Douglas, Bill (2) and Felipe Lima (2) scored the goals for Mais Querido.

0The Under-17 Boys from the Nest return to the field this Thursday (19), at 3pm, to face Fluminense in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The match will be played in Gávea and will be broadcast live on SporTV.
Led by coach Eduardo Zuma, the red-black team arrives at the clash after winning four victories in the last five games. In the final round of the first phase, Mengão beat Corinthians 5-0, securing third place in group A, with 15 points. There were five wins in nine games and 19 goals scored, the second best attack in the group.
Midfielder Lucas Vieira highlighted the relevance of the result in the first match of the quarterfinals. "Important game. I think it's always good to come away with a victory in the first game, especially at home. And try to make history by winning the Brazilian Under-17 Championship", said Vieira about the decisive classic.
In 2024, Flamengo and Fluminense faced each other only once. The duel took place in the first phase of the Copa Rio, when Mengão beat their rival 3-0 in Xerém. In that match, Douglas Telles scored two goals, while Pablo scored a great free kick from midfield. Now, the teams meet again in the Under-17 Brasileirão, with qualification for the semifinals at stake.

This time, Flamengo faced Nova Iguaçu in the fifth round of the U17 Guanabara Cup, in a match held at Nova Iguaçu's CT. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Mengão's goal being scored by Cardoso.
BALANCED MATCH AND DECIDED ON PENALTIES
Flamengo opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half, when Cardoso found the back of the net, giving the red-black team hope of victory. However, Nova Iguaçu managed to equalize the score, and the match remained tied until the final whistle.
In penalties, which award an extra point to the winner, Nova Iguaçu came out on top, winning by 5 to 4 and adding another point in the Guanabara Cup table.
Flamengo is already preparing for its next match in the Guanabara Under-17 Cup , which will take place next Saturday (7), against Madureira, in Gávea. The team led by coach Eduardo Zuma will seek victory to recover in the tournament.
