The 34th round of the Brasileirão 2023 brought with it a surprising turnaround in the odds of winning the title, highlighting the notable rise of Mais Querido

0The scenario at Brasileirão 2023 is constantly changing, and the 34th round brought notable twists, especially when looking at Flamengo's rise in the odds table of winning the title. In the survey released by InfoBola, it is possible to notice a surprising movement in the chances of each team, and Rubro-Negro from Rio shows signs of resurgence in its quest for the championship.
Before we delve into the statistics of the 34th round, it is worth revisiting the numbers from the 33rd round, which established a different panorama. At that time, Palmeiras led with a 44% chance, closely followed by Botafogo with 27%. Bragantino, Grêmio, Flamengo and Atlético-MG came next, each with their respective probabilities. However, Flamengo held a modest 10%, leaving many skeptical about their ability to turn things around.
The 34th round, however, was the scene of dramatic changes. Palmeiras, previously solid in the lead, saw their chances decrease to 19%, while Botafogo, despite remaining competitive, recorded a drop from 28% to 27%. Bragantino and Grêmio also experienced declines, with 22% and 20%, respectively. On the other hand, the big highlight was Flamengo, who doubled their chances, jumping from 10% to 5%. This significant increase indicates a notable rise in the final stretch of the championship. Atlético-MG, although remaining at the bottom of the odds, remained stable at 1%.
The question that looms now is: what drove this change in Flamengo's chances? Several factors may have contributed to this resurgence. Consistent performance in the last rounds, the recovery of key players from injuries and more efficient strategic planning are just a few possibilities. The fact is that the team led by skilled coaches and talented stars is recovering ground and consolidating its presence in the final stages of the championship.
It is worth mentioning that InfoBola, the source of the statistics presented, is recognized for its accuracy and reliable methods of analysis. However, football is notorious for its unpredictability, and each game can significantly change the odds. The beauty of sport lies precisely in this ability to surprise, keeping fans in constant expectation and excitement. In short, Brasileirão 2023 is far from being decided, and Flamengo, despite starting with modest odds, emerges as a force to be reckoned with.

0Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.
Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. Check it out:
"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."

Red-black team remains eight points behind leader Botafogo

0Last Sunday (15), Flamengo and Vasco drew 1-1, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The result, although frustrating for the red and blacks, who dominated much of the match, kept them eight points behind leader Botafogo.
Mais Querido entered the field imposing his pace and controlling the actions for most of the game. The red-black goal was scored by Gerson, who has been standing out in recent matches. However, CRF conceded the draw in the final minutes, which prevented a more significant approach to the classification table.
Even with the difference in points for Botafogo, the technical committee, led by Tite, devised a strategy focused on keeping the team competitive until the last rounds. According to information from the Coluna do Fla portal, the objective is to arrive "alive" in the fight for the title in the final five rounds. Matheus Bachi, assistant coach, believes that the recent good performance against Bahia and Vasco could be an indication that the team is on the right track to fight for the top again.
While trying to get closer to the leaders in the Brasileirão, Mengão is already preparing for the next challenge in the Libertadores. The team will face Peñarol, at Maracanã, in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament. The Rio team is looking for a good result at home before traveling to Uruguay for the second leg next week.
