Flamengo is about to receive a large sum of money in a deal involving the sale of midfielder Carlos Alcaraz to Everton , from England. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the deal could yield the club from Gávea an impressive 18 million pounds sterling, around R$ 132 million when the currency is converted. And this amount could make a difference in the Rubro-Negro's coffers, especially after the player was loaned to the English team.
THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN FLAMENGO AND EVERTON
According to the information revealed, Everton will pay £15 million immediately and another £3 million in bonuses, depending on the player's performance. The purchase, which is already practically guaranteed, should be made regardless of whether Alcaraz reaches the target stipulated in the contract. Although the negotiation is tied to the achievement of objectives, the English team has shown total willingness to acquire the Argentine midfielder, which brings relief to Flamengo's finances.
GAME GOALS AND IMPACT ON THE AGREEMENT
In order for Everton to commit to buying the player, a contractual target was set, which required Carlos Alcaraz to start at least six games during his loan spell. So far, he has started on a few occasions and still has time to meet the target. However, sources close to the negotiations claim that Everton have already decided to buy the player, even if the target is not fully met.
Flamengo, which began talks with Everton about loaning Alcaraz, now sees this sale as an opportunity to strengthen its finances. The 2025 U-20 Intercontinental Cup final will pit Flamengo against Barcelona (ESP) this Saturday (23), at 4:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã. Rubro-Negro is seeking its second title in the competition. This Monday (18), Conmebol announced the refereeing team for the clash.
The U-20 team will be reinforced by the senior squad. Matheus Gonçalves, Lorran, and Joshua return to bolster the midfield and attack , while defender João Victor will also be available to coach Bruno Pivetti.
Unlike his teammates, Wallace Yan will remain part of the first team. The decision was made by coach Filipe Luís, who opted not to release the striker for the final against Barcelona , as he has been using him consistently in the first team.

Flamengo's Deliberative Council approved, this Tuesday (19), the master sponsorship contract with Betano , one of the global leaders in sports betting. The link will begin on August 20, 2025 and will remain valid until December 31, 2028 , guaranteeing the club R$268 million per season. The agreement is considered the largest ever signed in national football.
The partnership includes brand exposure on the uniforms of the professional team and also on Olympic sports such as volleyball, basketball, and women's soccer. Additionally, the company will be featured on Flamengo TV content, expanding commercial integration and global visibility. The board emphasizes that the agreement is not limited to financial support, but opens doors to new business opportunities.
With values comparable to those of European football giants, the contract brings Flamengo closer to clubs like Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona. For comparison, Flamengo's partnership surpasses sponsorships from clubs like Ajax, whose partnership with Ziggo generates only €8 million (approximately R$51 million) per year. This amount places the Brazilian team in 10th place in the world rankings for largest sponsorship deals.
This Wednesday (20), at 8:30 am, president Luiz Eduardo Baptista , known as Bap, will be live on Flamengo TV alongside Guilherme Augusto Figueiredo, General Director of Betano Brasil. The conversation will be led by João Guilherme and will cover the details of the negotiation considered historic.
The striker is accompanying the delegation to Porto Alegre for the match against Internacional, but is experiencing a period of uncertainty and low minutes.

Striker Juninho traveled with the Flamengo squad to Porto Alegre, where the team faces Internacional this Wednesday (20) , for the decisive clash of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. However, the player's use is not yet confirmed . Out of the last match against Colorado for the Brazilian Championship, the center forward lost space in recent weeks and was not related in three consecutive games, including the first leg duel at Maracanã.
Internally, the club's board is evaluating the athlete's future, as he has received inquiries from Saudi Arabian football clubs, with loan proposals rejected by the club. Previously, Juninho was close to a move to Sevilla earlier this year.
Negotiations, however, were halted after coach Filipe Luís intervened, contacting the striker to convince him to join Mengão's project. The investment was substantial: R$37.2 million to acquire the number 23, who currently has no place on the team.
