Germano and Douglas Telles scored in the first stage, and Guilherme Gomes confirmed the victory away from home, in Itaitinga. The result marked the 10th game without losing in the category, and the team finished the classification phase in second place in the table with 17 points won.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GAME
The Boys from the Ninho had a scare at the beginning of the match, with the home team opening the scoring with Lucas Fernandes. However, this did not shake the red and black team, who put the ball on the ground and reacted.
First, Germano took advantage of the surplus, and took a risk from outside the area, tying the match, in the 11th minute. And at the end of the first half, at 44', in a beautiful collective play, the second came. The play started on the right and went from foot to foot until Germano found Bill at the bottom who, at first, found Douglas Telles free to turn.
On the way back to the break, another scare when Melk equalized in a play aerial. But afterwards, Mengão soon scored the third. Guilherme Gomes made a beautiful individual play, tried to play in the middle of the area, the defense moved away and the number 10 himself put it into the goal.
With the results of the round, Flamengo finished in second place in group A with the following campaign: 5 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats, 18 goals scored and 8 conceded. Thus, Mengão decides the quarter-finals at home against Athletico, who finished 3rd in group B. The first leg is expected to take place in the next week of September.

Flamengo's U-20 team returned to the field this week, in their first match after winning the Intercontinental Cup for the second time against Barcelona at the Maracanã Stadium . Playing at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium in Xerém, the "Garotos do Ninho" showed intensity and defeated Fluminense 4-0.
In a fifth-round match of the U-20 Rio de Janeiro State Championship, Guilherme was the star of the match, scoring a hat trick. Joshua also made his mark, completing the score in the red-and-black victory.
Under the command of coach Bruno Pivetti, the U-20 team remains undefeated in ten games, accumulating seven wins. With the victory, the team reached 10 points in four matches played in the Carioca. The next match will be another classic: Flamengo faces Vasco da Gama, on Saturday (6), at 9:30 am, in Gávea.
The match started evenly, with Fluminense taking the lead on two occasions. But just six minutes in, Fluminense opened the scoring: Guilherme found Pedro Leão , who shot; the goalkeeper saved, and Joshua pounced on the rebound.
In the 21st minute, after pressure from Tricolor, Guilherme scored the second with a precise finish after an assist from Daniel Sales . Still in the first half, the red-and-black number 10 shone with individual plays: he dribbled past the defense and scored the third in the 42nd minute, before completing his hat trick shortly after, closing the score at 4-0.
In the final stage, the pace dropped, but Flamengo continued to create chances, particularly through Pedro Leão, who threatened with shots from medium and close range . Despite the pressure, the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.

Internacional's youth teams have a new manager, and he's an old acquaintance of Flamengo. Mário Jorge, the 2023 U-20 Libertadores champion for Rubro-Negro, was announced by the Rio Grande do Sul club and was introduced last Monday (25), in Porto Alegre.
The coach had been free on the market since August 11, when he ended his brief stint in Saudi Arabian football , where he managed the under-17 team. Thus, the period of inactivity lasted less than a month.
Mário Jorge's departure from Flamengo paved the way for Filipe Luís's rise . The former full-back, who had been in charge of the Flamengo U-17s, took over the Flamengo U-20s at the Club World Cup. Playing a key role, he led the team to a comeback against Olympiacos (GRE) and won the competition for the first time.
International success boosted the board's confidence in Filipe Luís , who was soon promoted to the first team. After Tite's dismissal, the former player took over the first team and quickly won the Copa do Brasil, eliminating Corinthians and defeating Atlético-MG at the MRV Arena.
There's a chance Mário Jorge will soon be reunited with Flamengo . The CBF's schedule includes the U-20 Brazil Cup, a competition whose matchups have yet to be determined . If the clubs cross paths, the coach could face the very team with which he experienced one of the most memorable moments of his career.
Released by Bahia, the player will now have a new chance to prove himself at Tricolor and Mengão will not be entitled to the value of the deal.

A Libertadores and U-20 World Cup winner with Flamengo in 2024, 19-year-old right-back Lucyan has been announced as São Paulo's new signing . He had transferred to Bahia in March of this year but was released in August for disciplinary reasons.
With the agreement with São Paulo, Flamengo loses the 30% of the economic rights it had retained in the negotiations with the Bahia club. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande. Lucyan signed a contract valid until June 30, 2028, with São Paulo , with a release clause of 80 million euros (approximately R$506 million at the current exchange rate).
With no room at Flamengo , the full-back had signed with Bahia until December 2027, in a deal at no cost to the Bahia club, but which kept 30% of his rights tied to the Rubro-Negro. The fine, at the time, had been set at 100 million euros (R$600 million).
The stint, however, was short-lived. In August, Bahia issued an official statement confirming the termination: " Esporte Clube Bahia SAF announces the release of right-back Lucyan . The U-20 player joined the club in March 2025 and played 16 matches for the Pivetes de Aço."
A Flamengo youth product since the U-15s, Lucyan excelled in 2024, starting in the final stretch of the Copa Libertadores, including the final against Boca Juniors (ARG) . At the U-20 World Cup, he served as a reserve for Filipe Luís's team, which defeated Olympiacos (GRE) in the final. The full-back left Flamengo at the beginning of this season, when he was released by Bahia.
